The latest over-the-air (OTA) software update enables Polestar 3 owners to integrate their car keys into Apple Wallet, allowing for effortless vehicle access and control. Support for Polestar 4 is set to follow soon.
A New Level of Convenience
With this latest update, Polestar 3 drivers can unlock, lock, and start their vehicle without needing to physically handle a key fob or even remove their iPhone from their pocket. The functionality extends to Apple Watch users as well, offering a truly frictionless experience. This advancement underscores Polestar’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art digital solutions that enhance the overall ownership experience.
Seamless Key Sharing and Accessibility
Beyond convenience, Polestar has designed this feature with flexibility in mind. Owners can securely share their digital car keys with up to five other users via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, WhatsApp, and other compatible platforms. They also have the option to define each user’s level of access—whether it be full vehicle operation or restricted entry.
Additionally, Power Reserve ensures that users can still access and start their Polestar 3, even if their iPhone requires charging, eliminating any concerns about being locked out due to a drained battery.
