GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 19 November 2025 – Polestar, the Swedish electric performance brand, is set to transform in-car digital interaction with the introduction of Google Gemini, an advanced AI voice assistant and the next evolution of Google Assistant. The Polestar 5 will host an early public demonstration of Gemini at Slush 2025 in Helsinki, Finland, giving tech enthusiasts and automotive fans a first look at how AI is reshaping the driving experience.
Through a future Google update, Gemini will be integrated into all Polestar models from Polestar 2 onwards, replacing the current Google Assistant. Unlike traditional voice assistants, Gemini combines generative AI with a conversational interface, allowing drivers and passengers to interact with their car in a more intuitive and dynamic way.
“Gemini brings the next generation of AI voice interaction into the car,” says Sid Odedra, Head of UI/UX at Polestar. “Our collaboration with Google is a great example of how we continue to evolve the digital experience in our cars, and we’re thrilled to provide a first look at the possibilities Gemini unlocks for our drivers.”
Gemini introduces “Gemini Live,” a new feature that encourages more expansive, interactive dialogue. With a simple prompt—“Hey Google, let’s talk”—users can brainstorm ideas, ask follow-up questions, and explore new learning opportunities, all while on the move. This feature promises to enhance both convenience and engagement, turning routine journeys into connected, informative experiences.
Haris Ramic, Director of Product Management at Google, adds: “We have collaborated with Polestar for years on bringing innovative technology to connected cars. Bringing Gemini to the Polestar 5 is an exciting milestone, and showcasing it at Slush allows us to highlight the future of AI-driven mobility.”
Polestar and Google will share exhibition space at Slush from 19–20 November, where attendees can experience Gemini firsthand in the Polestar 5. Polestar users can expect to access Gemini from 2026 onwards, initially supporting US English, with plans for wider language availability in the future.
By merging cutting-edge generative AI with Polestar’s sleek, user-focused in-car technology, Gemini promises to redefine the way drivers interact with their vehicles—making cars not just smarter, but more responsive, personalized, and conversational than ever before.
