GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 8 September 2025 – Polestar, Europe’s pioneering pure electric performance brand, is set to captivate audiences at this year’s IAA Mobility in Munich with the highly anticipated debut of its four-door GT, the Polestar 5. The launch promises to underline Polestar’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric performance while reinforcing the brand’s progressive ethos.
The Polestar 5 will be unveiled on 8 September at an exclusive event held at HOCH5, Atelierstrasse 10, with public entry opening from 21:00. Munich-based agency Public Possession is supporting the launch, which will showcase not just the car but the vision behind it—a vision defined by Scandinavian design, cutting-edge technology, and sustainability.
From 9 to 14 September, the Polestar 5 will be at the heart of Polestar’s immersive pavilion at the IAA Open Space on Ludwigstrasse. Visitors can experience the car in a setting that combines sensory design with automotive innovation, including a signature scent created exclusively for the Polestar 5 launch—a subtle but powerful embodiment of the brand’s progressive spirit. The pavilion will also host VIPs and influencers, providing a dynamic meeting point for enthusiasts and industry insiders alike. Among the notable appearances is German film star Matthias Schweighöfer, who will visit the stand on 9 September at 13:30, highlighting Polestar’s expanding global creative collaborations.

Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller will further use the IAA platform to underscore the strategic importance of regulatory clarity. Delivering the keynote at the Summit on 9 September at 11:30, Lohscheller will call on EU policymakers to uphold the 2035 targets for ending sales of new combustion vehicles:
“The EU’s 2035 target to end sales of new combustion cars was a turning point. It gave clarity to the industry, direction to investors and certainty to consumers. Weakening it now would send the opposite signal: that Europe can be talked out of its own commitments. That would not only harm the climate. It would harm Europe’s ability to compete.”
With the Polestar 5, the Swedish brand continues to champion the intersection of performance, design, and sustainability. The car represents a significant milestone in Polestar’s roadmap and reinforces its position as Europe’s first dedicated electric performance car company.
