PEUGEOT has taken a significant step forward in its electrification strategy by unveiling the fully electric version of the PEUGEOT 408, following the plug-in hybrid variant’s debut in 2022. The new PEUGEOT E-408 pairs the sleek, fastback silhouette with cutting-edge electric performance, offering drivers the perfect blend of style, efficiency, and innovation. With a powerful 157 kW (210 hp) motor, zero emissions, and a driving range of up to 453 km, the E-408 further cements PEUGEOT’s position as a leader in the European electric vehicle market.

A Bold and Dynamic Design
The PEUGEOT E-408 stands out with its innovative fastback design, which combines a streamlined, aerodynamic profile with the functionality of a spacious and practical interior. Measuring 4.69m in length and 1.85m in width, the car’s sleek form is supported by PEUGEOT’s E-EMP2 platform, designed specifically for electrified powertrains. This modular architecture allows for a low-slung battery installation, maintaining cabin space while improving the vehicle’s center of gravity for enhanced handling and agility.

The E-408’s feline stance is immediately recognizable, with wide front and rear tracks of 1.59m and 1.60m, respectively. Its low height of 1.49m improves aerodynamics, while design elements such as the sharp rear ‘cat’s ears’ and angular surfaces create a distinctive, light-reflecting aesthetic. The 19-inch Graphite wheels, fitted with low-resistance tyres, complete the car’s athletic profile, underscoring its balance of elegance and performance.

Unmatched Electric Performance
At the heart of the PEUGEOT E-408 is a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets, delivering 157 kW (210 hp) and 345 Nm of torque. This motor, produced by the Stellantis-Nidec joint venture in France, provides smooth, responsive acceleration and an exhilarating driving experience, further amplified by the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®. The i-Cockpit® includes a compact steering wheel and a fully customizable 10-inch 3D digital cluster, offering exceptional ergonomics and control.

With a range of up to 453 km on a single charge, the E-408 is designed to meet the demands of both urban commuting and longer journeys. The vehicle’s advanced trip planner ensures efficient route navigation, taking into account traffic, terrain, and available charging stations. This system, integrated into the PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced system, offers seamless connectivity and real-time updates for an intuitive driving experience.

Peugeot Completes Its Ev Line Up With The Launch Of The All Electric E 408

A Sophisticated and Connected Interior
The PEUGEOT E-408 delivers more than just performance—it also excels in comfort and technology. The cabin features premium materials, such as Alcantara and Nappa leather, complemented by LED ambient lighting and customizable settings to create a luxurious atmosphere. Passengers benefit from ample legroom, thanks to the car’s long wheelbase of 2.79m, and advanced climate control systems ensure a comfortable ride in all weather conditions.

For those seeking cutting-edge technology, the PEUGEOT i-Connect® system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the ability to connect two phones via Bluetooth simultaneously. The 10-inch high-definition touchscreen provides access to all infotainment features, including PEUGEOT’s ChatGPT-powered voice recognition, which enhances convenience with features such as route planning and entertainment for passengers.

The E-408 also boasts a high-fidelity FOCAL® sound system, designed in collaboration with the premium audio specialist. This 10-speaker system, paired with ARKAMYS digital sound processing, offers an immersive auditory experience, ideal for long drives or leisurely commutes.

A Vision for a Sustainable Future
PEUGEOT’s commitment to electrification is evident in its growing line-up of EVs, and the E-408 represents a critical step in achieving its goal of becoming a mainstream EV leader in Europe. Manufactured at PEUGEOT’s Mulhouse plant, the E-408 benefits from the brand’s ALLURE CARE programme, which provides a comprehensive 8-year/160,000 km warranty, offering peace of mind to drivers as they transition to electric mobility.

Available in five colours—Okenite White, Obsession Blue, Selenium Grey, Elixir Red, and Perla Nera Black—the PEUGEOT E-408 is as customizable as it is advanced. With order books opening on October 2nd, 2024, this model promises to bring a new level of excitement to the C-segment EV market.

As PEUGEOT continues to expand its EV line-up, the E-408 stands as a testament to the brand’s vision for a sustainable future. Balancing performance, luxury, and zero-emission driving, the PEUGEOT E-408 is poised to set a new standard for electric vehicles in Europe.
