Milton Keynes, 1 April 2023: Škoda is taking the lead on car buying with the introduction of an innovative Pumped-Up Pooches scheme that allows potential owners to check that their beloved hounds will be a perfect fit for their new car.
Thanks to the new initiative, which starts today, canine-crazy Škoda buyers looking to collar a new car no longer face the ordeal of taking their dog to a retailer in order to ensure that their new car can handle their hound.
Available at Škoda retailers in the UK, the new in-car inflatables allow buyers to get a woof idea of how their hounds will fit in their new surroundings. Every retailer will hold a Pumped-Up Pooch stock cabinet, complete with a scale inflatable dog for every one of the 222 breeds recognised by The Kennel Club, the largest organisation in the UK devoted to dog health, welfare and training, and the creators of Crufts. The brand also offers an inflation service for buyers who pre-fur not to do it themselves.
Commenting on the introduction of the Škoda Pumped-up Pooches initiative, Kaye Niyn, Škoda’s Head of Interior Space said: “As a brand, we are famed for our innovation and our love of dogs. We think that this is the best invention for canines since the patenting of the dog bowl or the squeaky bone. Owners will love the ability to test drive a new Škoda without having to wrangle their westie or coax their corgi into an unfamiliar car.”
As sponsor of Crufts 2023 and one of the first automotive brands to offer dog-specific accessories, Škoda is fur-ever looking to make sure its cars are as safe and comfortable for dogs as they are for their owners. Škoda has a line-up of dog-friendly cars including the Superb Estate that has been crowned the best car for dogs by the likes of Auto Express, Carbuyer, CarWow and CAR.
Research has shown that the popularity of dogs has boomed over the last few years, yet many new owners fail to consider the suitability of their car before choosing their canine. Škoda’s new service seeks to offer reassurance to owners of all dogs great and small, whether buyers are seeking Chihuahua comfort or a place for their pug.
