Paris, October 2nd 2014 – An encounter with HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group, is on the cards for every visitor to this year’s Paris Motor Show from October 4 to 19. With more automakers than ever choosing HARMAN‘s advanced technology and solutions for the increasingly sophisticated on-board infotainment in their vehicles, a tour of the auto show will include numerous encounters with HARMAN infotainment systems.

Commenting on HARMAN at the Paris Motor Show, Sachin Lawande, President of HARMAN’s Infotainment Division says, “We are delighted to have such a strong presence in Paris this year. It is testament to the technology leadership and innovation of HARMAN that automakers all over the world see HARMAN as their partner of choice to provide advanced infotainment and connectivity into their vehicles. ”HARMAN infotainment systems can be found in Paris at the following automakers:

Fiat Group – Jeep Renegade, 500X, 458 Speciale Spider

The 2014 Paris Motor Show is the world premiere appearance of Fiat’s new 500X, and the French premiere of the Jeep Renegade, both of which feature the award-winning UConnect infotainment system by HARMAN. Drivers have access to an array of easy-to-use features to help them stay connected, informed and focused on driving. This new system offers total speech control – with hands-free calling and one-shot commands to enter navigation instructions – plus full featured navigation with 3D city models, landmarks and enhanced digital terrain models. Uconnect also powers the Connected Media Center in numerous 2014 Chrysler and FIAT cars, trucks and SUVs, such as the Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, as well as the current Viper sports car.

Also premiering in Paris is the 458 Speciale Spider, which includes the CMC infotainment system by HARMAN. The system is controlled via the Infotainment Control panel (ICP) and linked to the cluster display. Moreover it offers vast entertainment options, such as Bluetooth, Satellite Radio, a Wifi Hotspot or iPod interface.

With over-the-air navigation data updates – new in the latest generation of the Navigation system Professional – drivers can be certain route guidance stays accurate. Real-time traffic information makes for smarter, safer navigation, and the dynamic range map in the BMW i8 tells drivers how far the car can travel in any direction. The system is fully voice-controlled, enabling drivers to keep their hands on the wheel, and the head-up display keeps eyes on the road ahead. The high-resolution 10.2-inch screen offers split-screen functionality for a clear view of infotainment options.
