In a significant achievement for the automotive industry, OYAK HORSE, a division of Horse Powertrain, proudly announces the production of its 7.5 millionth engine at its state-of-the-art facility in Bursa, Türkiye. This milestone not only underscores OYAK HORSE’s commitment to innovation and quality but also marks a pivotal moment in its ongoing journey towards enhancing mobility solutions in the face of global environmental challenges.
Expanding Workforce to Meet Demand
In conjunction with this landmark achievement, OYAK HORSE is excited to share the creation of approximately 100 new jobs, effectively increasing its workforce by 10%. This expansion supports the introduction of a new third shift at the plant, enabling OYAK HORSE to scale its production capabilities further. Currently, the plant produces over 1,500 engine units daily, reflecting a remarkable 38% rise in output between 2023 and 2024, driven by a growing demand for hybrid engines.

The 7.5 Millionth Engine: A Testament to Innovation
The milestone engine produced is the HR16 Gen3 hybrid engine, a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter gasoline powerhouse designed for exceptional efficiency and performance in hybrid vehicles. This engine boasts a maximum power output of 69 kW at 5,600 rpm, positioning it as a robust solution for both EU and global markets. Additionally, the HR16 Gen3 complies fully with EURO 6D FULL emissions standards, exemplifying OYAK HORSE’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while meeting the stringent demands of modern automotive markets.

OYAK HORSE has established itself as a key player in the development of low-emission internal combustion and hybrid engines. The plant features advanced facilities, including a high-pressure aluminium injection section, dedicated engine and gearbox departments, and a cutting-edge R&D center. Spanning an impressive 81,000 square meters, the facility operates three shifts and employs approximately 1,000 skilled professionals. Furthermore, around 75% of its production is exported internationally, highlighting the plant’s integral role in the global automotive supply chain.
