Stuttgart/Sölden. Music bands on the international rock and pop scene can now make themselves at home while on tour in a comfortably equipped Setra coach. To make the journeys from concert to concert as pleasant as possible, Austrian coach operator Artists-Delight has converted the chassis of an S 411 HD into a “mobile hotel”.

Whether heading to Lithuania, Sweden or even Asia on what can sometimes be long journeys, musicians can now escape the demands of the turbulent music business in the Setra TopClass 400 compact bus. “Often we can be on the road touring for up to ten weeks”, according to company boss Jochen Rödinger, who started his touring service in 2005 with a double-decker S 228 DT coach from the Setra model series. He built a new model with his team in just a few weeks in the company’s own joinery workshop at the headquarters in Sölden. The S 411 HD has a total of nine sleeping berths as well as a shower cubicle and a toilet. In the rear of the touringcoach, its prominent passengers can review past concert performances in a leatherClub lounge area, featuring a bar, microwave and television, while preparing for upcoming stage shows in a relaxed environment. To protect their privacy, Artists-Delight has positioned the driver’s rest area separately in the cockpit.
Special coupling for trailer for fan merchandise
For Dr Thomas Rohde, Director of EvoBus Austria GmbH, the specially fitted-out Setra coach is a good example of the optimum flexibility which is implemented as part of the production process: “The prerequisities for meeting the wide variety of special, individual customerrequirements were implemented as early as the body construction stage.” The bodyshell of the S 411 HD is designed in such a way that it was also possible to include the installation of a special auxiliary air conditioning system and atrailer coupling with a towing capacity of 9000 kg. According to Jochen Rödinger: “In addition to numerous concert tours, the Setra touring coach is also used in conjunction with a trailer for selling fan merchandise at internal motorsport events.”
