OMODA&JAECOO UK has continued to accelerate its presence in the British automotive market, delivering a robust 7,961 vehicle registrations in May 2026. The performance underscores sustained demand for the dual-brand offering, as both OMODA and JAECOO deepen their footprint across the UK retail landscape and expand consumer awareness in a highly competitive market.
According to the latest Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders figures, the May result was driven primarily by strong momentum within the JAECOO line-up, which accounted for 5,207 registrations. The OMODA brand contributed a further 2,754 registrations, reinforcing the growing appeal of its diverse model portfolio among UK buyers seeking value-led, technology-rich mobility solutions.
A standout performer once again was the JAECOO 7, which recorded 3,027 registrations in May alone. This achievement not only secured its position as the brand’s best-selling model but also placed it fourth overall in the UK’s monthly sales rankings, while maintaining its position as the third best-selling car year-to-date. The JAECOO 5 also delivered a strong contribution, posting 1,935 registrations, signalling healthy demand across the brand’s core SUV offering.
The combined strength of the two brands lifted their market share from 4.79% in April to 4.95% in May, marking continued upward momentum and reinforcing the increasing confidence UK consumers are placing in the product range. This growth trajectory reflects a broader shift in buyer sentiment toward feature-rich vehicles that balance design, technology and affordability in equal measure.
A notable insight within the latest registration data is the high proportion of private retail demand. With 63% of total registrations attributed to private buyers, the results highlight a strong consumer-led performance rather than reliance on fleet or leasing channels. This retail strength is further supported by the rapid expansion of the dealer network, which now spans 136 retailers across the UK, enhancing accessibility and brand visibility nationwide.
The wider product strategy continues to evolve across both marques. OMODA’s line-up includes the OMODA 5 in SHS-H, ICE and EV variants, alongside the OMODA 7 SHS-P with ICE arriving later in the year, and the flagship OMODA 9 SHS-P. Meanwhile, JAECOO’s portfolio now features the JAECOO 5 across SHS-H, ICE and EV formats, the versatile JAECOO 7 in SHS-P, SHS-H and ICE configurations with both AWD and FWD options, and the recently introduced JAECOO 8 SHS-P, which adds a new all-wheel-drive flagship presence with dual seating layouts.
Commenting on the performance, Gary Lan, CEO of OMODA&JAECOO UK, highlighted the growing consumer response to the brands’ distinct positioning. He noted that the continued rise in registrations reflects increasing recognition and trust, driven by a blend of distinctive design, advanced technology and strong value propositions tailored to UK customers. He also emphasised that ongoing expansion of both the product range and retailer network remains central to the brand’s long-term strategy, ensuring consistent customer experience and sustained growth momentum.
Year-to-date performance further reinforces this trajectory, with OMODA UK reaching 15,078 registrations and JAECOO UK achieving 27,996. Combined, the two brands have now recorded 43,074 registrations in 2026, signalling a rapidly strengthening position within the UK automotive market and setting a firm foundation for continued expansion through the remainder of the year.
