OMODA & JAECOO South Africa has marked a significant milestone, surpassing 20,000 total vehicle sales since launching locally in 2023. The brand’s cumulative sales now stand at an impressive 20,857 units, highlighting both the growing popularity of its vehicles and the confidence South African consumers have in its premium product offering.
January 2026 proved to be a landmark month, with 1,418 vehicles sold—the highest monthly figure ever recorded by OMODA & JAECOO in South Africa. This record performance sets a new benchmark for the brand and underscores its rapid rise as one of the country’s fastest-growing automotive names.
Since its local debut, OMODA & JAECOO has shown remarkable growth. The brand recorded 1,750 units sold in 2023, rising to 5,094 sales in 2024, and achieving an impressive 12,597 units in 2025. The strong start to 2026 signals continued upward momentum, reflecting sustained demand across its model range.
Electrified mobility is playing an increasingly important role in this growth story. Plug-in hybrid vehicles, powered by the brand’s Super Hybrid System (SHS), have contributed 590 units to overall sales. Among these, the JAECOO J7 SHS has seen significant uptake, with 317 units sold since its launch in June 2025. The premium OMODA C9 SHS, priced from R999,900, has also performed exceptionally well, achieving 218 sales despite its higher price point. Alongside these, both the JAECOO J5 and OMODA C7 are seeing strong consumer interest, demonstrating the brand’s broad appeal across different segments.
Cumulative sales by model reflect the strength of OMODA & JAECOO’s portfolio: the OMODA C5 leads with 14,395 units, followed by the JAECOO J7 with 3,817 units, the JAECOO J5 at 1,322 units, the OMODA C9 with 995 units, and the OMODA C7 recording 328 units.
Hans Greyling, General Manager for OMODA & JAECOO South Africa, commented: “This milestone is more than just a number. It represents the trust South African customers have placed in our brand. Reaching 20,857 sales in under three years, and recording our strongest month ever in January 2026, is a testament to the strength of our products, the commitment of our dealer partners, and the passion of our growing customer community.”
Looking forward, the brand expects this momentum to continue, with the imminent introduction of the OMODA C5 Hybrid and JAECOO J5 Hybrid further expanding its electrified lineup. These new models aim to offer South African motorists a combination of premium design and practical hybrid performance, strengthening the brand’s position in both traditional and electrified motoring segments.
With a record-breaking start to 2026 and continued consumer interest across its range, OMODA & JAECOO South Africa enters the year with confidence, committed to delivering innovative, premium vehicles to drivers nationwide.
