London, 30 July 2025 – OMODA UK has marked a significant milestone in its journey towards sustainable mobility by successfully completing round eight of the 2025 Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup with two all-electric OMODA E5s. As invited guests of Motorsport UK, the official governing body of motorsport in the United Kingdom, OMODA’s two-vehicle team tackled over 320 miles of challenging Scottish terrain with poise, efficiency, and innovation.
The ecoRally Scotland, now in its third year, is a flagship event within the Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup—the world’s foremost championship dedicated to energy-efficient mobility. Hosted by the Scottish Motor Club (SMC), the rally departs from traditional motorsport’s speed-centric format, instead rewarding teams for precision driving, strategic energy use, and intelligent route planning.
Across two days, the OMODA E5s demonstrated exceptional real-world capability, navigating the scenic but demanding routes with consistent performance. Powered by a 61 kWh battery and offering a WLTP-estimated range of 257 miles, the E5’s efficiency was further enhanced by its suite of advanced EV technologies.
From Dundee to Pitlochry and Back
Day one, Saturday 26 July, saw teams depart from Dundee, travelling through Clackmannanshire and Fife, with a checkpoint at the historic Knockhill circuit—Scotland’s National Motorsport Centre. Day two carried crews north past the breathtaking shores of Loch Tay, pausing for a picturesque lunch stop in Pitlochry before returning to Dundee for the ceremonial finish.
Throughout the rally, competitors were equipped with FIA energy monitoring devices and GPS systems to accurately record average speeds and time controls. The OMODA E5’s Eco mode, one of three adaptive performance settings, proved indispensable in maintaining efficiency across variable road conditions. Its regenerative braking system, capable of recovering up to 80% of energy during deceleration, played a pivotal role in preserving battery levels without compromising performance.

Comfort Meets Capability
Inside, both drivers and co-drivers benefitted from the E5’s premium specification—sports front seats with heating and cooling, dual-zone climate control, a full-featured head-up display, and a SONY audio system that added an enjoyable soundtrack to the road-bound adventure.
Meanwhile, OMODA’s EV navigation system, powered by HERE mapping, helped optimise route decisions—an essential asset in an event that challenges not only machines but also the teamwork and strategic thinking of its participants.
Crucially, with rapid DC charging up to 130 kW, the E5 can replenish from 30% to 80% in just 28 minutes, reinforcing its suitability for long-range, real-time events. AC charging is supported at 10.3 kW for added flexibility in everyday use.
A Statement on Sustainable Mobility
Commenting on the brand’s participation, Victor Zhang, UK Country Director for OMODA, said:
“Range anxiety is now a phrase of the past. Events like ecoRally Scotland prove that EVs aren’t just suitable for everyday driving—they’re more than capable of tackling long-distance, efficiency-focused challenges. We’re proud to participate in grassroots events that introduce more people to sustainable mobility and demonstrate the real-world capabilities of our vehicles.”
The participation underscores OMODA UK’s growing presence and commitment to the British market. Currently available in over 75 dealerships nationwide, the OMODA E5 starts at £33,065 OTR* for the Comfort trim and £34,565 OTR* for the range-topping Noble. Each vehicle comes with a comprehensive 7-year/100,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first), an 8-year battery warranty, and RAC Home Start as standard.
By embracing the spirit of innovation and sustainability at the heart of the Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup, OMODA UK continues to position itself at the forefront of the electric mobility movement—proving that efficient driving doesn’t mean compromising on performance, comfort, or ambition.
