London, 21st January – The cutting-edge automotive brand OMODA has taken a bold step into the intersection of art and mobility, announcing the winner of its groundbreaking Design the Future competition. This innovative initiative invited three UK-based artists to transform the exterior of the all-electric OMODA E5 into a canvas for their creative visions.
After an exciting public vote hosted on OMODA’s Instagram, London-based artist Olli Hull emerged victorious with his ethereal, floral-themed design inspired by the timeless charm of old fairytale illustrations. His winning entry will not only be celebrated but also rewarded with an all-expenses-paid trip to Germany, where he will visit the OMODA Research & Design Centre to delve deeper into the creative process behind designing cutting-edge vehicles.
A Fusion of Artistry and Mobility
Hull’s vision for the OMODA E5 reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. “As the OMODA E5 is an electric vehicle, I set out to create a design that foregrounds the natural world and the environment,” Hull shared. “I really enjoyed the opportunity to express myself via the new medium of a car, and I’m over the moon to have my hard work rewarded with winning the competition.”
Joining Hull in this artistic journey were Harrogate-based digital artist Jing Zhang and Birmingham’s vibrant illustrator Dan Whitehouse, known as Super Freak. Each artist brought a unique perspective to the competition:
- Jing Zhang’s design celebrated the harmonious blend of Eastern and Western cultures with intricate, illustrative details. “I’m so pleased that people connected with my design,” Zhang said, reflecting on the project.
- Dan Whitehouse delighted audiences with his playful, character-driven approach, painting the OMODA E5 with a riot of colourful and goofy figures. “I had a blast every step of the way,” Whitehouse remarked.

Rewarding Creativity and Community
OMODA’s dedication to fostering creativity extended beyond the artists themselves. The brand also awarded one lucky voter, Emily, 30, a year-long lease of the innovative OMODA E5, accompanied by a £1,000 charging voucher. This gesture highlights the brand’s commitment to engaging its community in the journey of sustainable mobility.
A Visionary Brand with Bold Ambitions
As a subsidiary of Chery International, China’s leading vehicle exporter, OMODA is known for blending advanced technology with distinctive design. The Design the Future competition underscores OMODA’s philosophy of breaking boundaries and embracing unique, forward-thinking ideas.
