Octopus Electric Vehicles, the UK’s largest EV-only leasing company, has made an exciting move by ordering its first batch of All-New Dacia Spring electric cars. Known for being the UK’s most affordable new electric vehicle, the Dacia Spring is now available for just £195 per month through Octopus’ salary sacrifice scheme—making electric driving accessible to a broader range of UK motorists.

Affordable and Accessible: The Dacia Spring Revolution
As the electric car market continues to evolve, affordability remains a key factor in driving adoption. The All-New Dacia Spring is set to change the perception that electric vehicles (EVs) are out of reach for many. With its budget-friendly pricing, starting at just £195 per month, the Spring positions itself as one of the top 10 most affordable cars in the UK, while also claiming the title of the most affordable new EV. This price point makes it an appealing option for first-time EV drivers, commuters, and families seeking a low-cost second car for city driving.

The Dacia Spring boasts a range of up to 137 miles on the WLTP mixed cycle, or 185 miles in the WLTP urban cycle, making it a versatile option for both urban commuters and those needing a practical car for short trips. Its compact size, coupled with affordable running costs, makes it ideal for navigating busy city streets and ensuring minimal impact on the household budget.

Salary Sacrifice: The Smart Way to Drive Electric
The salary sacrifice scheme offered by Octopus Electric Vehicles allows employees to lease a new Dacia Spring through their employer, paying for the car via their gross salary. This method offers significant savings, enabling drivers to reduce their income tax and national insurance payments by up to 40%. For as little as £195 per month, drivers not only get a brand-new electric car but also enjoy the ease of a hassle-free, all-inclusive leasing experience.

Octopus Electric Vehicles’ salary sacrifice package is designed to make the switch to electric driving seamless. The package covers everything a driver needs, including the car itself, an installed home charger, insurance, maintenance, and access to the Octopus Electroverse charging network. This charging roaming service gives drivers access to over 850,000 charging points across Europe, all manageable through a single card and app. With Octopus’ all-in-one offering, drivers can focus on enjoying their electric vehicle without the worry of hidden costs.

Ready for the Road: Dacia Spring Features
Available in both Expression and Extreme specifications, the five-door Dacia Spring supermini is well-equipped with modern features that make it a strong contender in the EV market. Standard features include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, manual air conditioning, rear parking sensors, a Media Control system with USB port, electric front windows, and remote central locking. Its 26.8 kWh battery is efficient, taking just four hours to charge from 20% to 100% using a 7kW home charger, making it both practical and convenient for everyday use.

A Gamechanger in the EV Market
Octopus Electric Vehicles has committed to purchasing an initial batch of 50 Dacia Springs, with plans to increase the order depending on demand. Alvin Castillo, Head of Procurement at Octopus Electric Vehicles, sees this partnership as a gamechanger: “Being able to get a new electric car for less than £200 a month is a gamechanger – opening up clean, affordable driving for drivers that previously wouldn’t have been able to switch.”

With new EV models arriving in the UK each month, the Spring stands out for its affordability and practicality, offering a real alternative to those previously priced out of the EV market. Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, echoed this sentiment: “We love that leasing via Octopus Electric Vehicles makes switching to an EV so easy and accessible, allowing more UK drivers to get behind the wheel of a highly efficient and usable car at a very attractive cost.”

The Future of Affordable Electric Motoring
With the first Dacia Spring models set to hit UK roads this month, Octopus Electric Vehicles is paving the way for more drivers to embrace electric motoring at a fraction of the cost. As the UK’s most affordable EV, the Dacia Spring is sure to appeal to a wide range of drivers looking for an economical and sustainable way to get around. With Octopus leading the charge, the future of affordable, clean driving looks brighter than ever.
