Norton Motorcycles Reveals Vision for International Growth and Innovation

Chichester, July 16, 2024 – Norton Motorcycles, a proud member of the TVS Motor Company Group, has announced a significant investment and expansion strategy poised to elevate the brand on the global stage. The announcement was made during an exclusive media event at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Norton’s senior leadership team – Sudarshan Venu, Dr. Robert Hentschel, and Richard Arnold – shared the company’s ambitious vision for the future.

Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS Motor Company, expressed his enthusiasm for Norton’s new chapter: “Our vision, commitment, and investment in the Norton brand are entering an exciting phase. We look forward to sharing that with motorcyclists across the world.”

With the robust support and global reach of TVS Motor Company, Norton is undergoing a transformation, guided by a strong and dynamic leadership team. TVS Motor has pledged a substantial £200 million investment over the life of the project, aimed at new product development, advanced facilities, cutting-edge research and development, and world-class quality engineering. This investment will fuel the creation of six new models set to launch over the next three years, adhering to Norton’s core principles of ‘Design, Dynamism, and Detail’.

International Expansion Plans: Norton is gearing up for a significant international expansion, with an initial focus on key markets in the USA, Germany, France, Italy, and India. Sudarshan Venu, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, highlighted the bolstering of Norton’s senior leadership team and the strategic investments being made to support this growth.

One of the notable additions to the leadership team is Richard Arnold, Norton’s Executive Director and former CEO of Manchester United Football Club. His expertise and vision are expected to propel Norton into new heights, leveraging his vast experience in managing global operations and brand growth.

Norton Motorcycles Unveils Ambitious International Growth Strategy

Dr. Robert Hentschel, CEO of Norton Motorcycles, provided insights into the meticulous development and engineering efforts driving the new and upcoming Norton models. He emphasized TVS Motor’s pivotal role in refining the design and drivability of Norton’s motorcycles. The company’s revitalized research and development efforts are anchored at its state-of-the-art facility in Solihull, where innovations like the One of One V4SV, inspired by Steve Hislop’s iconic ‘White Charger,’ are brought to life.

Dr. Hentschel remarked: “The investment in research and development, along with our leadership team, positions us to introduce six thrilling products to global markets with unparalleled quality and scale. Our focus on design, drivability, and attention to detail will maximize the exciting opportunities for Norton and our new customers.”

Richard Arnold also shared his perspective on Norton’s future, discussing the brand’s upcoming global distribution plans and the significance of honoring Norton’s rich heritage. This year marks a milestone for Norton as it completes the fulfillment of orders for customers of the previous company, having invested £2.3 million into the development, manufacturing, and re-engineering of the Commando and V4 platforms. This achievement allows Norton to fully concentrate on future growth and innovation.

Richard Arnold, Executive Director, concluded: “Norton’s heritage is vast and integral to our development as a global brand. We prioritize our customers, both present and future, not only with new motorcycles but through every aspect of the Norton experience. The products currently in testing and development are incredibly exciting. Bikers around the world will love to ride and own them. I look forward to expanding their availability to local dealers in new territories and connecting with bikers to share the Norton journey.”

With a robust vision, substantial investment, and a dedicated leadership team, Norton Motorcycles is poised to accelerate towards a bright and expansive future, bringing the thrill and legacy of the brand to enthusiasts worldwide.
