LONDON, UK (July 15, 2024) – Nissan has announced an electrifying new partnership with Silence, a leader in European electric micro-mobility. This collaboration will see Nissan become the UK distributor for Silence’s innovative range of electric vehicles, including the Silence Nano S04 and e-motorcycles, starting in October 2024. This follows successful launches in France, Italy, and Germany, with the UK distribution partner strategy currently under evaluation.
This strategic partnership aligns with Nissan’s recently launched business plan, The Arc, which focuses on growth and competitiveness. By distributing Silence’s compact and agile electric vehicles, Nissan is making it easier for urban drivers to begin their electric journey.
Starting this October, Nissan will have the exclusive distribution and service rights for the Silence product range in the UK, including the Silence S04 quadricycle vehicles and electric motorcycles. These uniquely designed and engineered products cater to the needs of urban drivers seeking cleaner, smarter, and more flexible mobility solutions.
The Silence S04 Nanocar is engineered for agility in bustling city environments. This compact, lightweight electric vehicle (EV) comes in two variants, the L6e and L7e, to meet various urban driving needs. The L6e offers a range of 109 miles with a top speed of 28mph, while the L7e has a range of 92 miles and can reach speeds up to 54mph. Both variants are powered by two 5.6kWh batteries, providing quick and convenient charging options, including direct charging, battery swapping at dedicated stations (available with a subscription), and home or office charging through a removable battery pack.

Gareth Dunsmore, Managing Director of e-Micro Mobility at Nissan AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania), expressed his excitement: “Following our successful launches in Italy, France, and Germany, I am thrilled to expand our partnership with ACCIONA’s Silence to the UK. This collaboration ensures that more people across Europe can access electric mobility and embark on their EV journey. By offering Silence’s innovative range of products, we are facilitating the EV transition with clean mobility solutions that integrate cutting-edge technology in functional and flexible vehicles.”
This partnership is part of Nissan’s broader strategy under The Arc, which emphasizes the use of strategic partnerships to drive business growth and transformation. By collaborating with innovative companies like Silence, Nissan aims to explore new revenue streams, accelerate the transition to EVs, and respond to the evolving needs of its customers.
Carlos Sotelo, CEO of ACCIONA’s mobility business and Silence, shares this vision: “Urban mobility is evolving rapidly, and drivers’ needs are changing. We need to think smarter, smaller, and lighter to meet these demands. Silence’s light electric vehicles, combined with Nissan’s robust distribution network, offer new, exciting, and intelligent options for urban mobility in Europe, contributing to a more sustainable future.”
The S04 Nanocar also features the My Silence app, providing a range of digital services at the touch of a button. Customers can enjoy keyless entry, location tracking, and monitoring of range and battery charge status. The app also allows users to share access to their vehicle with friends, enhancing the accessibility and convenience of electric mobility.
