Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is steering into a new era in India with the launch of its all-new Gravite, a purpose-built 7-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) designed to meet the dynamic needs of Indian families. Manufactured locally in Chennai by Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd., the Gravite is priced from 565,000 Indian rupees, making it an accessible choice for those seeking versatility, comfort, and style in a single package.
The Gravite draws inspiration from India’s 1.4 billion people, combining practicality with thoughtful design to create a C-SUV that adapts seamlessly to everyday commutes and weekend adventures. Its launch builds on the momentum of the Nissan Magnite, which is already exported from India to multiple markets, and complements Nissan’s growing portfolio that includes the upcoming Tekton C-SUV in mid-2026 and a 7-seater C-SUV in early 2027.
“India is central to Nissan’s global ambitions,” said Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President, Middle East, KSA, CIS and India. “The all-new Nissan Gravite is not just a product launch; it marks the beginning of a sustained growth phase for Nissan in India. With local manufacturing in Chennai and a future-ready product roadmap, we are here to compete, grow and lead in the segments that matter.”
Design That Commands Attention
The Gravite establishes a distinct and confident identity in line with Nissan’s global design language. Elevated proportions, muscular body lines, pronounced wheel arches, and high ground clearance create a commanding presence on India’s roads. Signature C-shaped design elements, a piano black grille, LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, LED taillamps, roof rails, and wide-opening doors ensure practicality without compromising style.
Comfort and Flexibility for Families
Inside, the Gravite offers flexible seating for up to seven occupants, with removable third-row seats that expand luggage capacity to 625 liters. The cabin is designed with roominess and tropical climate comfort in mind, featuring a powerful air-conditioning system and ample storage spaces to make every journey convenient and enjoyable.
Technology and Safety
The Gravite comes equipped with a floating 20.3 cm infotainment display supporting wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™, wireless device charging, a 17.7 cm full digital multi-functional cluster, auto-locking doors, and front and rear parking sensors. Safety is paramount, with more than 30 standard features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Brake Assist System (BAS), and ABS with EBD, ensuring control and confidence in a variety of driving conditions.
Performance and Efficiency
Powering the Gravite is a 1-liter petrol engine delivering 72PS at 6250 rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3400-3600 rpm, tuned for smooth and predictable performance in city traffic and on highways alike. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed EZ-shift automated manual transmission (AMT), both designed to provide flexibility without compromising fuel efficiency.
Limited Launch Edition
To celebrate its introduction, Nissan will offer a special Launch Edition of the Gravite, featuring unique styling touches, premium audio, and enhanced interior features, available for a limited time.
With the Gravite, Nissan is making a bold statement in India’s growing MPV segment—offering families a vehicle that balances style, comfort, practicality, and modern technology, all designed to support life on the move.
