YOKOHAMA, Japan – The Nissan Formula E Team is gearing up for an exhilarating 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with the announcement of a potent driver line-up. The team will feature Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato, bringing a blend of experience and performance to the upcoming season.

Rowland and Nato: A Proven Partnership

Oliver Rowland, who has been instrumental in Nissan’s recent successes, will continue with the team after a standout performance in Season 10. The British driver clinched two victories, including a thrilling home win in the final race of the year, complemented by two pole positions and five additional podium finishes. Rowland’s impressive form secured him a commendable fourth place in the championship standings.

Norman Nato, returning to the team after a productive stint in Season 9, brings a wealth of experience and familiarity with the team. The Frenchman had previously delivered a noteworthy performance, including the team’s first podium under full Nissan ownership at the 2023 Rome E-Prix. Nato’s return is anticipated to provide a significant boost, with his in-depth knowledge of the team and track record in developing competitive cars.

GEN3 Evo Era: A New Chapter Begins

The 2024/25 season heralds the debut of the GEN3 Evo technology, promising even faster and more efficient machinery than its predecessors. The season will feature a record 17 races, introducing new venues such as Miami, returning to Jakarta, and hosting a double-header in Monaco. The second-ever Tokyo E-Prix will also be a highlight, marking Nissan Formula E Team’s home race.

Pre-season testing is scheduled at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia from November 4-7, offering the first glimpse of the GEN3 Evo’s capabilities before the season opener in São Paulo on December 7.

Team Principal’s Perspective

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of Nissan Formula E Team, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season. “We’re thrilled for Season 11 after a strong previous campaign. Adding Norman back into the mix alongside Oli, who had an exceptional Season 10, should create a formidable duo. Norman’s experience and Oli’s recent form are both assets we value highly. We also extend our gratitude to Sacha, whose contributions to the team have been invaluable. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Driver Insights

Oliver Rowland is eager to build on his previous successes. “Continuing with Nissan Formula E Team after a strong year feels great. I’ve been focusing on training and preparing for the GEN3 Evo, which will be a challenge for everyone. With Norman back, I’m looking forward to working together and aiming for even better results.”

Norman Nato is equally enthusiastic about his return. “I’m excited to rejoin the team and pick up where we left off. Oli’s performance last season was impressive, and I’m confident we’ll make a strong pairing. Our goal is to win races and championships, and I’m looking forward to contributing to our success.”

Nissan’s Commitment to Formula E

Since making its all-electric racing debut in Season 5, Nissan has remained a dedicated participant in Formula E. The Japanese manufacturer’s commitment to the Gen3 era and beyond highlights its ambition to lead in electric vehicle technology. In March 2024, Nissan reaffirmed its long-term involvement by becoming the first manufacturer to commit to the Gen4 era, extending its support until 2030. This move aligns with Nissan’s broader Ambition 2030 electrification goals, which include achieving carbon neutrality and advancing EV technology.

As Nissan Formula E Team embarks on the 2024/25 season, the combination of Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato promises a thrilling chapter in the team’s history. With new technology and a challenging race calendar, the team is poised for an exciting and competitive season.
