Hannover, 27 June 2022 – Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ premium pick-up celebrates its digital premiere on 7 July. Alongside numerous highlights and technical innovations like LED lights and the vertical touch display, its interior reinterprets the classic buttons, push-buttons and rotary switches as well.
In the one-tonne pick-up segment things do at times also have to happen fast. How good it is then if you’re able to bring up key menus on the central display simply by pushing a button or turning a switch. Functionality and an attractive, pleasing look and feel are not mutually exclusive. The switches and buttons in the new Amarok below its control unit demonstrate this with their aluminium appearance and textured surface structure in the new teaser film.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ new premium pick-up helps its drivers wherever it can. Numerous new driver assist systems, including 20 that are new to the Amarok, call for clear structures to enable ease of use and precise adjustment. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is using a mix of digital functions and ergonomically optimally configured buttons and push/rotary switches in the Amarok that are intuitive to use. Parking, air conditioning, hazard warning lights or the driving modes important for on- and off-road driving can be directly controlled in this way.
In addition to the ‘IQ.Light’ already shown, the strikingly embossed ‘Amarok’ on the tailgate and the new, vertically arranged display, buttons and knobs also merge in organically within the interior of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ new pick-up. Over 830,000 units of the Amarok have been sold to date in Europe, South America, South Africa and Oceania. The strengths of the successful premium pick-up from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles: supreme drive systems, high load capacities, systematic functionality and a design that cuts a good figure both on and off the road. The brand from Hannover is further developing these strengths with the new generation. The new Amarok will launch as of the end of 2022 in the first few countries with double cab and four doors (DoubleCab), and in some individual markets with a twodoor single cab (SingleCab).
