Subaru XV

The Subaru XV – a formidable crossover vehicle with massive lifestyle appeal, practicality, versatility and a ‘go anywhere’ attitude – sees two new additions to its South African range as the XV becomes even more accessible with greater value for money. Featuring all the XV’s best attributes at a nicer price, the new Subaru XV models allow scope for a greater market to enter into the Subaru brand.

New Subaru XV 2.0i 6MT and CVT models join 2.0i-S CVT

The new Subaru XV 2.0i models – which are available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a Lineartronic™ CVT automatic transmission – have been based on the original XV, with no compromise on ultimate driving enjoyment, capability or versatility, and slot in beneath the XV 2.0i-S Lineartronic™ CVT which continues unchanged as the range-topper in the model line-up.

The Subaru XV is a high-riding, crossover hatchback with excellent ground clearance, an all-terrain personality and comfortable dynamics no matter what the driving environment may present. Powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder normally-aspirated Boxer® petrol engine and featuring Subaru’s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™ system, the XV is the perfect vehicle for lifestyle buyers. Easily fulfilling roles as a city runabout, a holiday cruiser or even a proper off-roader, the crossover concept and confident packaging means the Subaru XV is a complete all-rounder. The Subaru XV has to date racked up several local and international awards, including the Japanese Design Award and the IIHS Top Safety Pick Award for 2012. The XV also went on to win the AWD class in the 2012 Total Economy Run.

Subaru

The low-mounted and smooth-operating Boxer® engine produces 110 kW of power and 196 Nm of torque, making it perfectly suited to any XV application. Coupled to the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™ system which results in a low vehicle centre of gravity, the drive train contributes greatly to the XV’s surefooted on-road handling dynamics as well as creating a smooth and comfortable drive. Fuel economy is impressive, and the Lineartronic™ CVT models even feature better fuel economy on the combined average (7.9-litres per 100 km) than their manual counterpart (8.0-litres per 100 km) – an example of how Subaru’s high levels of advanced engineering are amongst the best in the world.

The new ‘standard grade’ models still incorporate high levels of specification and safety albeit at a more affordable price than the range-topping i-S model. Standard features in the new models include auto-levelling halogen headlights, front fog lights, colour-coded door handles, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, automatic single-zone air conditioning with dust filter, sports fabric seats, a multi-function steering wheel, a premium audio system with Bluetooth, USB and aux integration, cruise control, paddle shifters (CVT model only) and a gear-shift indicator (manual model only). The 2.0i-S Lineartronic™ continues to feature enhanced standard specifications as before, featuring HID headlights, chrome detailing, a sunroof, a leather-bound steering wheel and gear lever, aluminium pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control and the multi-function display (MFD) with reversing camera above the new standard models’ specification levels. Options across the XV range include full leather upholstery and satellite navigation.

Crucially, no compromise has been undertaken on safety, to ensure that the Subaru XV still reflects Subaru’s fastidious focus on safety in all its products – the XV boasts five star safety ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP. All XV models still feature ABS with EBD and BAS, VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control), HSA (Hill Start Assist), seven airbags including a driver’s knee airbag, a reinforced body shell and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

New Subaru XV means best value

The new Subaru XV range now incorporates three distinct models, all of which come standard with Subaru Assist, a 3-year/ 100 000 km warranty and a 3-year/ 75 000 km maintenance plan with extension options available. Presented exclusively by Subaru Finance, the new Subaru XV 2.0i 6MT is now available from as little as R3 979 per month (from R4 199 per month for the new 2.0i Lineartronic™ CVT; terms and conditions apply).

  • Subaru XV 2.0i 6MT -R299 000
  • Subaru XV 2.0i Lineartronic™ CVT – R314 000
  • Subaru XV 2.0i-S Lineartronic™ CVT – R345 000
