In the three regions where it has its biggest unit sales, Audi is appointing executives with proven track records to take over important functions as of February 1 2013. In Europe, the current heads of sales for Germany, Michael Renz, and for Europe excluding Germany, Wayne Griffiths, are exchanging positions.

Sales in Audi’s biggest single market, China, will be more closely focused in the future. To these ends, Qing Pan, Vice President Audi China, will additionally assume responsibility for key sales functions in the Chinese market which are located at Audi’s headquarters in Ingolstadt.

As stated by Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Audi AG: “We are strengthening our organization in the three biggest sales regions and are increasing the local responsibility. Michael Renz has brought Audi to the top of the premium market in Germany, Wayne-Anthony Griffiths has done the same in Europe. Pan has excellent knowledge of the Chinese market and has his cultural roots there as well. These changes will help us to maintain our position as the most successful premium brand in those regions.”

Michael Renz (55) has been in charge of sales and marketing in the German domestic market since 2009. Before that, he held executive responsibility for example for the Overseas, Southern Europe and Middle East sales regions. In between those positions, he was head of central marketing in Ingolstadt. Renz has been at Audi since 1994.

Wayne-Anthony Griffiths (46) has held various positions in sales at Audi since 1993; for the past seven years, he has been head of the region Europe excluding Germany. Before that, he was responsible for the Overseas region and for the Northern and Western Europe sales areas.

Qing Pan (45) has been Executive Vice President Audi China since the beginning of 2012. With the transfer to Mr. Pan of key sales functions that are located in Ingolstadt, the responsibility for Audi’s biggest single market will be more focused in the future. Since 2006, Pan has been at the VW Group, for which he has held various executive positions in Asia.
