Maidenhead-based C&A Haulage has taken delivery of its first Renault Premium Lander 430bhp, 8×4 rigid, supplied by Renault Trucks South. The truck, which has an Optidriver automated gearbox and sleeper cab, is the first Renault to join C&A Haulage’s seven-strong mixed fleet of Volvo, Scania and DAF.
The truck, which has been fitted with a Wilcox insulated tipping body, will be used to transport tarmac, aggregate and sand on behalf of leading independent asphalt manufacturer, United Asphalt, for its highway maintenance and construction operations.
The Renault Lander will operate between United Asphalt’s two sites in Theale and Croydon and across the South East. Ross Snape, Managing Director, United Asphalt, says: “Since our start up in 2007 we have built a strong partnership with C&A Haulage. C&A Haulage is based in Maidenhead, Berkshire and specialises in the transportation of products for the highway maintenance, building and construction industries. Established in 1964 by Carmelo Antinoro with just one truck, the family business now operates a fleet of seven trucks on a contract basis to a number of high profile clients in the South East. The new Renault Lander has been dedicated to the memory of the late Carmelo Antinoro.
United Asphalt is an independently owned business which commenced trading in October 2007, following the acquisition of two asphalt manufacturing plants in Theale, Berkshire and Croydon, Surrey. The plants produce high quality asphalt, macadam and specialist surfacing products for a wide variety of end users, ranging from highway construction and maintenance to domestic customers.
