Škoda Clinches Three Category Wins at Auto Express New Car Awards
In a resounding success, Škoda secured three prestigious category titles at the annual Auto Express New Car Awards, further solidifying its reputation for excellence in the automotive industry. Additionally, Škoda’s Enyaq earned a significant accolade at the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards, underscoring the brand’s prowess in electric vehicle innovation.
Octavia: Best Family Car of the Year
Leading Škoda’s triumphant charge was the new Octavia, which was honored as the Best Family Car by the Auto Express expert judging panel. This latest accolade adds to Octavia’s impressive trophy collection, including its previous win as the overall Car of the Year in 2020. Auto Express Editor Paul Barker praised the Octavia, stating, “The updated Octavia looks smarter and is better equipped than ever. It remains an ultra-capable, long-distance, comfy cruiser, outshining its competition in this category.”
Superb and Kodiaq: Best Estate Car and Best Large SUV
The all-new Superb and Kodiaq models also captured top spots, being named Best Estate Car and Best Large SUV, respectively. These models, which debuted in UK showrooms in June 2024, impressed the judges with their advanced technologies and enhanced practicality. The Kodiaq’s victory marks its third consecutive win in the Best Large SUV category, bringing its total to five category wins at the Auto Express New Car Awards. The Superb, with five category wins, remains one of the most celebrated cars in the history of these awards.
Enyaq: Best Electric Large SUV
In a separate honor, the Enyaq was named Best Electric Large SUV at the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards. Diesel&EcoCar Editor and Publisher Ian Robertson lauded the Enyaq, saying, “The Enyaq is still our favorite Volkswagen Group electric car.
