The Guild of Motoring Writers (GOMW) is excited to announce the introduction of a new accolade aimed at celebrating the exemplary fundraising efforts within the automotive media community. This innovative award will be presented alongside the highly regarded Young PR Professional of the Year Award during the annual gala dinner at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club on December 5, 2024.
Introducing the GOMW and WOMAC Award for Fundraising
In partnership with Women On the Move Against Cancer (WOMAC), the Guild is proud to unveil the GOMW and WOMAC Award for Fundraising, which recognizes the tireless dedication of automotive media professionals who have gone above and beyond in their charitable endeavors. Open to both Guild and non-Guild members, this award seeks to honour individuals or organizations that have made a significant impact in fundraising for charity within the automotive industry.
This initiative aims to spotlight the meaningful contributions made by those who harness their influence in automotive journalism to support charitable causes. If you or someone you know fits the criteria for this distinguished award, please reach out to Guild Honorary Secretary Richard Netherwood at [email protected] for more information on the application process. The closing date for entries is fast approaching—Friday, October 18th.

GOMW MICA Young PR Professional of the Year Award
In addition to the new fundraising accolade, the GOMW is once again inviting entries for the esteemed Young PR Professional of the Year Award. Designed to uplift and celebrate rising stars in the automotive PR landscape, this award is open to professionals under the age of 30. The accolade is a unique opportunity for young communicators to shine alongside some of the best talents in automotive writing and photography.
Created through a collaboration between the Guild of Motoring Writers and the Motor Industry Communicators Association (MICA), this award not only recognizes outstanding individuals but also provides invaluable resources. The winner will receive a cheque for £500, one year’s professional-level membership of MICA (valued at £150), and mentoring from a seasoned MICA leader. This year’s recipient will succeed Auto Trader Senior Communications Manager Bryony Snelling, who impressed judges in 2023 with her innovative approach to communications, producing high-quality coverage through specialist reports and campaigns.
Individuals interested in this opportunity can submit their entries via the Guild of Motoring Writers’ website at www.gomw.co.uk/awards. The deadline for entries is also set for Friday, October 18th.
