The new Doblò Panorama offers the best-in-class in terms of load carrying capacity and emission reduction with a new style, as well as state-of-the-art technical features. These results were achieved by the creation of a new platform, incorporating more room for passengers, a roomy 790 litre boot (3,200 litres with the seats folded down), lower CO2 emissions (145 g/km with the 1.6 Multijet 77kW EURO 4 engine), an innovative Bi-link suspension layout for extra comfort, standard safety equipment and highly modular interiors with folding seats.
Fiat Doblò Panorama Style and comfort
Created by Centro Stile Fiat, the innovative design of the new Doblò Panorama combines original forms and large dimensions in a very balanced manner to confer the impression of a robust, solid vehicle: 4.39 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.84 m high (1.89 m with roof bars), it has a 2.76 m wheelbase (best-in-class).
The distinctive front end features large, enveloping headlights, the big rounded bonnet, which forms two side “muscles” on the mudguards, a broad central “mouth” with prominent logo in the central position and seamless bonnet and bumpers. An ample windscreen with black pillars completes the front end for a lighter and brighter passenger compartment and improved visibility.
From the side view, the Doblò Panorama features essential lines seamlessly along the lower section from the front to the rear wheel arch giving it strength and dynamism. Standard side mouldings along with shiny black door pillars, highly functional, compact wing mirrors, and a flushed side door sliding guide integrated in the body are typical of MPVs. The large side windows confer a feeling of brightness and ample interior space. The big sliding side doors make ingress and egress easier, and they are large enough to accommodate rear electric windows that open the entire surface of the window for the first time in its segment.
The generously-sized rear section immediately suggests a large loading volume and amount of space. Distinctive and modern, the swing tailgate of the new Doblò Panorama has a sleek style and a large window. A unique shiny black fascia splits the tailgate in two: the upper glass part and the lower metal section.
Doblò Panorama is available in one pastel paint colour; Ambient White and five metallic colours; Flamenco Red, Neoclassical Bordeaux, Chemical Grey, Mineral Grey and Indie Ivory.
The rear lights are arranged vertically and have a crystal clear transparent lens which puts the accent on brightness. Finally, the enveloping bumpers merge into the rear wheel arches on the side and into the tailgate on the upper region.
Available in the Dynamic trim level, the interiors of the Doblò Panorama, featuring durable Pacman Grey seat fabrics, have been designed with functionality in mind to create an appealing environment. Numerous smart solutions for making the most of on-board space, such as an array of storage compartments and flexible interiors, with seven seats as standard, satisfy the needs of those who want to enjoy their Doblò Panorama with family and friends. The dashboard, in Plancia Grey trim, and the handy roof shelf are designed to ensure top level ergonomics and driving comfort.
Finally, the boot is the largest in its class (from 790 to 3,200 litres with the seats folded) and is equipped with a tonneau cover for added protection of valuable luggage items.
Fiat Doblò Panorama Environment and economy
The Doblò Panorama will be launched with a single engine variant, the 1.6 Multijet 105 HP featuring a 6-speed manual transmission, designed and manufactured by Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT).
The 1.6 Multijet is a significant step forward with improved performance, comfort, emissions and running costs. All this comes with much improved driveability, due, above all else, to useful torque values delivered at low engine speeds. These aims were achieved by totally optimising combustion, which exploits the potential of the new injectors to the full.
Fitted with an electronically-controlled turbocharger, the 1.6 Multijet delivers 290 Nm of torque at only 1,500 r/min, whilst returning low CO2 emissions and fuel consumption (145 g/km and 5.5 litres/100 km on the combined cycle, respectively). The top speed is 164 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 13.4 seconds.
Furthermore, the 1.6 Multijet needs less frequent servicing. As a result of the high quality level and the efforts spent on each component to further improve strength and efficiency, the 1.6 Multijet only requires one service every 30,000 km for perfect engine and vehicle efficiency, resulting in running cost reductions and servicing costs of up to 25% compared to previous generation powertrains.
Fiat Doblò Panorama Safety
The Doblò Panorama is designed and built to achieve the highest levels of safety. Front airbags and next-generation side bags, which are larger in size compared to traditional side bags, for protecting both the head and the chest, are fitted as standard.
The road holding of the Doblò Panorama is constant and predictable through the adoption of electronic dynamic control systems for braking and steering. Fitted standard is the ABS system with EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with Hill Holder to assist starting uphill (this is the only vehicle in its segment to have this function available).
Additionally, the Doblò Panorama has the entire dynamic and comfort features that allow users to embark comfortably and safely on any journey. There is a powerful and effective braking system, tyres designed specifically for maximum comfort and safety, and the innovative suspension structure: independent-wheel McPherson type at the front and independent-wheel Bi-link with anti-roll bar at the rear. These are a state-of-the-art solution for improving comfort, road-holding and driveability, increasing roominess and on board space and lowering the loading threshold.
The Doblò Panorama surrounds driver and passengers with technology that increases comfort and helps to keep the driver’s focus on the road: this includes an automatic climate control system with distribution to rear seats, an MP3 stereo with controls on the steering wheel, cruise control, parking sensors and a built-in Blue&Me hands-free system.
Finally, the Doblò Panorama is fitted standard with Blue&Me, including hands-free with Bluetooth® interface and next-gen voice recognition, USB port, MP3 player, SMS interpreter. The innovative Blue&Me system has been a regular winner of prestigious international awards with more than one million units installed on various Fiat Group Automobiles models.
