  •  Success model BMW X1: more than 275 000 units sold worldwide to date; more milestones through US market launch and start of production in China; comprehensive further development of the first BMW X model for the premium compact segment; new BMW X1 embarks on a continuation of its success story with specially modified body styling, a significantly enhanced interior, state-of-the-art drive technology and innovative equipment features.

BMW X1

  • Targeted design accents to reinforce the vehicle’s character as defined by spontaneous agility, urban elegance and robust versatility in the mould of BMW X models; front apron with new structure and extended painted surfaces emphasises affiliation to the family of BMW X models and premium feel; new headlight design with LED accent lights and LED light rings for the LED daytime running lights in conjunction with optional Xenon lights; new foglamp surrounds; reduced plastic bordering at the lower edge of the body; side indicators integrated into the exterior mirrors; larger painted surfaces and more prominent underguard at the rear; new exterior paint colours and alloy wheels.
  • Optimised premium feel in the interior thanks to newly designed centre console more clearly orientated towards the driver, refined surfaces and controls, as well as new, particularly high-grade interior trim; optional
    new-design sports leather steering wheel.
  • BMW Lines available on a BMW X model for the first time; targeted individualisation through exclusive, harmoniously matched design and equipment features; BMW xLine accentuates the robust diversity of the new BMW X1, BMW Sport Line emphasises its agility and dynamics;
    BMW Lines as an alternative to the basic trim level; M Sport package available as a further option.

  • Engine portfolio expanded by additional units featuring
    BMW TwinPower Turbo technology; output range from 85 kW in the BMW X1 sDrive16d to 180 kW in the BMW X1 xDrive28i;
    BMW X1 xDrive25d with 160 kW now tops the engine line-up among the diesel models; enhanced performance on the BMW X1 sDrive20d and BMW X1 xDrive20d; new manual transmission with dry sump lubrication; eight-speed automatic transmission unique in this vehicle segment, including Auto Start-Stop function as an option for all models except the BMW X1 sDrive18i (optional six-speed automatic), the BMW X1 sDrive16d and the BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition.
  • Comprehensive integration of BMW EfficientDynamics technology:
    Auto Start-Stop function for manual models as well as those with eight-speed automatic transmission, ECO PRO mode (optional), Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, Optimum Shift Indicator, disengageable climate compressor; BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition is the world’s most economical premium vehicle of its kind boasting further honed balance between performance and fuel consumption; further engine variants with significantly reduced fuel consumption (up to 0.9 litres per 100 kilometres on diesel models with eight-speed automatic transmission).
  • Intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive standard for two engine variants and optional – and as an alternative to brand-typical rear-wheel drive –
    for four variants; electronically controlled, variable power distribution for optimised traction, directional stability and dynamics when cornering;
    new efficiency and weight-optimised power divider.
  • High-grade suspension technology with double-joint thrust bar or double-joint spring strut axle at the front and five-arm rear axle; speed-sensitive power steering as an option; DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) featuring DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) as standard and Performance Control
    as an option.
  • Exceptionally solid body structure, comprehensive safety equipment including six airbags and three-point inertia-reel belts on all seats.
  • Spacious interior allowing versatile use; three generously sized seats in the rear; 40 : 20 : 40 split-folding rear seatback sections can be individually adjusted in ten stages from 1° to 31°; luggage space with seatback in normal position 420 litres, in comfort position (31°) 360 litres, in cargo position (1°) 480 litres; extendable up to 1 350 litres with the rear seatback fully folded down; wide variety of stowage compartments, trays and cup holders in the passenger compartment.
