Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, a radical design concept that pays homage to legendary racing cars. This exclusive performance car is the first in the highly limited Mythos series, with only 250 units available worldwide. The Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed made its world premiere on the sidelines of the Formula 1™ Monaco Grand Prix, impressing racing drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
The design concept is a tribute to motor racing, with a completely open, two-seater performance car without a roof or windscreen. The HALO system, inspired by Formula 1™, replaces the conventional A-pillar, providing a unique driving experience. The interior features a custom clock designed by IWC Schaffhausen and a unique color and equipment concept.

The design is inspired by the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar, with technical, sharply cut visible carbon fiber parts and sensual, rounded shapes. The wheels feature unique carbon fiber cladding, and the front and rear wheel covers are designed for optimal aerodynamics. The long bonnet and low front end are typical of a sports car, with a wide lower air intake and a dark, chrome-plated Mercedes star on the soft nose.
The design team’s precision work is evident in the side-sill paneling with aero flics and the muscular shoulders above the wide-track rear wheels. The flying buttresses behind the seats pay homage to legendary racing cars like the 300 SLR. The eye-catching paintwork, in a color gradient from Le Mans red to graphite grey with a black AMG pattern, alludes to the color scheme of the victorious Mercedes car at the 1924 Targa Florio race.
The Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is a true performance car with an extremely low silhouette, celebrating the unique tradition of Mercedes-Benz with pure and uncompromising race-car design, innovative materials, and modern technology. It embodies the “pinnacle of exclusivity” from Mercedes-Benz in the top segment, offering a glimpse of what is probably the most direct way to experience performance and driving pleasure.
