DAD-OF-TWO Glen Guthrie is getting on his bike to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Glen, who is the Service Manager at Adam Purves Mitsubishi in Galashiels, will be part of a convoy of motorbike riders to travel 455 miles from John O’ Groats to Mull of Galloway.
The Jolly Boys event, which will include dozens of men and women riding across Scotland, is planned to take place from June 6th to 8th this year.
Glen, who is a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, said: ‘We’re used to driving something like 300 miles in one ride, so it should be okay for us.
‘I’ve been a member of the group for 15 years now, and it’s important to encourage people to be safe on the road. But it’s also great to do it for charity.’
Marie Curie Cancer Care is a charity that provides free nursing care for terminally ill people at home and in hospices.
Maureen Stevenson, Fundraising Manager for Marie Curie, Scotland South, said: ‘We would like to thank the motor bikers for choosing to support Marie Curie. Every £20 raised will pay for one hour of local nursing care.
‘We wish the motor bikers well on their journey, and their help and support is much appreciated.’
