DEALERSHIP HOPING FOR A WIN WITH RUGBY TEAM SPONSORSHIP
CAR dealership in Earls Barton has stepped in to help a local women’s rugby team with some much needed backing.
Newman and Reidy Mitsubishi are sponsoring Wellingborough Ladies RFC by providing their club shirts.
The deal came about after Adam Newman, Dealer Principal at Newman and Reidy in Main Road, heard the team were in need of support and decided to help out.
Captain Emily Underwood, from Wellingborough, said: “We’re really grateful to Newman and Reidy Mitsubishi and we are hoping this will be a partnership that will continue for a number of years now. Women’s rugby teams find it really hard to get sponsorship so this is great and we’re really lucky.”
Dealer Principal Adam Newman said: “We are more than happy to support our local women’s rugby team. They are a great bunch and when we heard they were looking for sponsorship we were glad to help. We hope it gives them a boost on the pitch for the remainder of the season.”
Wellingborough Ladies RFC was established in 1995 and they play in the South East North 2 League. The club is also on the look out for more members for their under 15s and under 18s girls teams and the women’s team.
Emily, who plays centre, said: “We’re always keen for new members to come along and it’s a really friendly atmosphere so we would love to hear from anyone who is interested.”
