28 July 2025 – Derby, UK: After turning heads at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Milltek Sport has announced the official production launch of its new performance exhaust system for the Land Rover Defender OCTA. Engineered to bring out the raw personality of the OCTA’s 635 hp twin-turbocharged V8, the new system is available from early August, with prices starting from £3,882.
Developed using Milltek’s own Defender OCTA as a rolling testbed, the exhaust system was designed to meet a growing demand for greater character and sound in modern performance vehicles—particularly turbocharged models, which often arrive from the factory sounding overly subdued. The system’s debut at Goodwood showcased its ability to transform the OCTA’s already formidable presence into a full-bodied, acoustic experience that commands attention.
Purpose-Built for the OCTA Experience
Crafted entirely in the UK by Milltek’s skilled engineers at its Derby facility, the new system is a non-resonated, particulate filter-back design that integrates seamlessly with the OCTA’s factory valve control system. This means the vehicle retains all original functionality, including the signature tone change when switching into OCTA mode—but with a significantly enhanced voice.
Kev Hall, Technical Operations Manager at Milltek, described the result of the in-house development process as transformative:
“The exhaust delivers a well-balanced acoustic profile, deeper and more engaging under throttle, yet composed and refined at idle. There’s no intrusive drone at cruising speeds, and the system integrates seamlessly with the car’s character. We’ve also achieved a more pronounced contrast between normal and OCTA modes, with a clearly defined shift in tone and volume when the valves open.”

Built to Perform – and Last
As with all Milltek systems, the OCTA exhaust is constructed using T304L aerospace-grade stainless steel for maximum durability and corrosion resistance. The system features twin 80mm valves—larger than the factory items—and a reflective rear silencer without a centre resonator, all designed to optimise both sound and performance without impacting emissions.
Buyers can tailor the final look with optional Milltek GT100 exhaust tips, available in a choice of polished black, brushed titanium or burnt titanium finishes. For those preferring a subtler aesthetic, the original tips can be retained.
Pricing & Availability
Milltek’s Defender OCTA exhaust system is available from early August, priced from £3,882 with original tips, or £4,595 with the premium burnt titanium tips. Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with festivalgoers at Goodwood describing the prototype system as giving the OCTA the sound it “deserved all along.”
