Goodwood, 11 July 2025 – In an era where electrification continues to reshape the performance car landscape, Milltek has stepped forward to prove that the hybrid future doesn’t have to sound silent. Debuting at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the renowned British performance exhaust specialist has launched new systems developed specifically for two of the most potent new petrol-electric hybrids on the market — the Porsche 992.2 Carrera Hybrid and the BMW G90 M5 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).
Harmonising Power with Presence
With these latest offerings, Milltek adds to its ever-growing portfolio of premium exhaust solutions, expanding the acoustic possibilities for high-performance hybrids without compromising their environmental credentials.
On the BMW front, Milltek’s newly developed exhaust system for the G90 M5 — a plug-in hybrid producing a monstrous 727 hp from its 4.4-litre V8 — delivers a deeper, more aggressive note befitting the M badge. The system is a non-resonated, particulate filter-back design, engineered to sit downstream of the factory emissions hardware, meaning it retains compliance with regulatory standards while significantly enhancing the car’s soundscape.
Thanks to Milltek’s advanced valve integration technology, drivers can enjoy a more pronounced difference between open and closed settings. While it works seamlessly with the OEM control system, enthusiasts can opt for a dedicated Milltek valve controller for greater customisation over their exhaust note. The system is compatible with both the G90 saloon and the forthcoming G99 Touring, and customers can choose from a range of stylish trims including polished stainless, cerakote black, brushed titanium, and burnt titanium.

Porsche Hybrid Gets the Milltek Treatment
Meanwhile, Milltek is also turning its attention to Stuttgart’s latest innovation — the Porsche 992.2 Carrera Hybrid. Specifically developed for the new GTS 3.6-litre hybrid variant with 478 hp, Milltek’s prototype OPF/GPF-back exhaust system is set to enter production soon. Like its BMW counterpart, the system retains the factory particulate filters, ensuring no changes to official emissions figures while unlocking the emotional, characterful tone enthusiasts expect from a performance Porsche.
Engineered to Last
True to Milltek’s reputation for quality, both systems are crafted from T304L aerospace-grade stainless steel, developed and tested at the company’s state-of-the-art facilities in Derbyshire, UK. This commitment to engineering excellence ensures optimal performance, durability, and a perfect fit every time.
A Message for the Modern Enthusiast
Speaking from Goodwood, Kev Hall, Technical Operations Manager at Milltek, said:
“The latest hybrid models from BMW and Porsche offer an impressive amount of power, but like any high-performance car, we knew we could develop a Milltek exhaust system to enhance the sound these awesome engines make.”
“Just because these hybrids use battery power to boost performance, it doesn’t mean their drivers should be deprived of a thrilling soundtrack from their combustion engines,” he added.
Reinventing the Hybrid Experience
As more performance marques pivot towards hybridisation, Milltek is ensuring that the joy of driving isn’t left behind. By delivering exhaust systems that preserve environmental responsibility while elevating emotion and engagement, Milltek continues to set the benchmark for high-performance sound — now with a hybrid heartbeat.
