MG Motor has reached a historic milestone, delivering its one millionth customer car in Europe. Since returning to the UK in 2011 with the MG6, the iconic British brand has steadily grown its footprint across the continent, now represented in 34 markets with over 1,300 dealer partners.
A driving force behind MG’s European ascent has been its commitment to offering affordable, stylish, and enjoyable electric and hybrid vehicles, often ahead of the competition. The MG4 EV, the brand’s original electric hatchback, became a standout success, helping MG deliver 317,000 electric vehicles across Europe. The 2026 MG4 EV and all-new MG4 EV Urban continue this momentum, offering cutting-edge electric mobility tailored to modern drivers.
MG has also pushed the boundaries of performance electric vehicles with the MG Cyberster, a dramatically styled, open-top electric roadster designed at MG’s London studio. The Cyberster’s award-winning design played a prominent role in MG’s 100th anniversary celebrations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, highlighting the brand’s fusion of heritage and forward-looking innovation.
Hybrid models have equally contributed to MG’s growth. In 2025, the brand saw a surge in demand for its Hybrid+ cars, achieving 139,000 deliveries. These efficient and practical models demonstrate MG’s commitment to providing customers with technology that is both accessible and relevant.
Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director at MG Motor UK, emphasized the brand’s journey:
“MG has successfully returned to Europe’s motoring mainstream with its one millionth customer delivery. The underlying affection for MG, the iconic British sports car brand, including a flourishing classic car culture and many passionate owner groups, is invaluable and greatly appreciated. This heritage continues to shape our strategy and reinforces our commitment to electric performance cars.”
He continued:
“The MG of today offers customers a broad choice of vehicles, with a forward-looking approach to hybrids and electrics. By investing in attainable technology and presenting a compelling case for overall value, we’ve responded to what customers truly want.”
MG’s growth in Europe is reflected in its impressive 2025 sales figures: 300,000 units sold across Europe, a 30% increase over 2024, with the MG ZS SUV leading the charge at 424,000 units, and the UK remaining its strongest market with 386,000 sales.
Looking ahead, MG Motor plans to make several announcements in the first half of 2026, focusing on technology and design innovations that will further enhance the European customer experience and reinforce its position as a leader in the electric and hybrid vehicle segment.
With a century-long heritage underpinning a modern, electrified future, MG Motor is proving that iconic design, affordability, and cutting-edge technology can drive not just cars—but a whole movement in European motoring.
