MG’s flagship model, the MG Cyberster, has been declared the ‘Best EV Roadster’ at this year’s Top Gear Electric Awards, marking the model’s second accolade even before its anticipated release this summer. With a starting price of £54,995, the Cyberster is poised to revolutionize the electric roadster market.
The award was determined by a panel of automotive experts from Top Gear, who assess the best vehicles in the burgeoning EV sector across various categories. The Cyberster impressed the judges with its dynamic driving experience and polished maneuverability, earning it the top spot in its category.
Tom Ford, Associate Editor of Top Gear Magazine, expressed his enthusiasm for the Cyberster, noting that it propels MG into uncharted territory and stands out in its class. He praised the vehicle’s enjoyable driving dynamics and suitability for winding roads, describing the Cyberster as “a delight to drive.”

The Cyberster’s design merges classic aesthetic elements from MG’s storied past with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, offering both single and dual motor variants. The more robust dual motor Cyberster GT version boasts 503PS (375kW) and 725Nm (535 lb-ft) of torque, making it MG’s quickest accelerating production car ever with a 0-62mph time of just 3.2 seconds.
Included with the vehicle is a comprehensive 7-year, 80,000-mile warranty, underscoring MG’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The first UK deliveries of the Cyberster are scheduled for August.
