In a celebration that bridged nostalgia and innovation, Meyers Manx marked its 60th anniversary with a spectacular buggy parade and the European debut of its 2.0 Electric Prototype at the Goodwood Revival on September 6th. This milestone event not only paid tribute to the brand’s storied past but also showcased its bold leap into the future of electric mobility.

A procession of over 80 Meyers Manx dune buggies took to Goodwood’s historic track, thrilling spectators and evoking the carefree spirit of a bygone era. Enthusiasts from around the world gathered to pilot their iconic buggies, despite a light drizzle that did little to dampen the joy or muffle the distinctive exhaust notes of these beloved machines. The parade served as a powerful reminder of the enduring appeal of the Meyers Manx, whose design remains synonymous with fun, freedom, and adventure.

At the head of this vibrant convoy was Phillip Sarofim, Chairman of Meyers Manx, driving the Duke of Richmond and Gordon in a newly remastered Meyers Manx Resorter. This particular model, built on the classic 1966 Volkswagen Beetle chassis, featured charming wicker seats and an unmistakable retro design, blending the original adventurous spirit with subtle modern updates. The Resorter not only embodied the brand’s history but also pointed toward a promising future, where nostalgia and innovation harmoniously coexist.

Following the lively parade, the focus shifted to the Earls Court Motor Show, where Meyers Manx unveiled its highly anticipated 2.0 Electric Prototype. This European debut symbolised a bold new chapter for the brand, as it embraces the shift toward sustainable driving without sacrificing the thrilling, open-air experience that has defined the Meyers Manx for six decades. The electric reimagination of the classic dune buggy wowed both industry insiders and the public, earning admiration for its blend of timeless design and forward-thinking technology.

“Goodwood Revival is the perfect stage to honour 60 years of Meyers Manx while showcasing the future with our electric prototype,” said Phillip Sarofim. “It’s a tribute to the legacy Bruce Meyers started and a look forward to how we’re keeping the Manx spirit alive in the electric age.”

The Meyers Manx 2.0 Electric Prototype reflects the brand’s continued commitment to innovation, combining the charm of its heritage with a clear vision for the future. With its fully electric powertrain, the prototype delivers the same exhilarating driving experience that enthusiasts have come to love, but with a forward-thinking nod to sustainability. This latest creation ensures that Meyers Manx will remain an icon of adventurous driving for generations to come.

As the brand celebrates its 60th anniversary, Meyers Manx remains a beacon of innovation, freedom, and joy on and off the road. The lively parade and the unveiling of the 2.0 Electric Prototype at Goodwood exemplify the company’s commitment to preserving its adventurous spirit while adapting to the future. It’s a celebration of both the past and what lies ahead, with Meyers Manx continuing to inspire drivers and adventurers around the world.
