Electric capability proves a match for round-the-clock support in pilot with Northside Truck & Van
London, UK – Thursday, 24 July 2025 – Mercedes-Benz Vans UK is driving forward its electrification strategy with the successful deployment of the all-electric eSprinter into its 24/7 roadside assistance programme, Service24h. The pioneering pilot, run in partnership with Northside Truck & Van, marks a significant milestone in the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainable, zero-emission aftersales support.
Over the course of a two-month trial, a Mercedes-Benz eSprinter based at Northside’s Bradford site responded to more than 160 callouts across Leeds and York. Operating on a continuous 24-hour shift rotation, the van not only met—but in many cases exceeded—national targets for response and repair times set by Mercedes-Benz.
“Growing our electric footprint in our Service24h vehicles is something we’re extremely proud of,” said Simon Neill, Customer Services Director at Mercedes-Benz Vans UK. “We know our customers expect the best from the three-pointed star—especially when it comes to aftersales—and our electric vehicles are proven to meet those standards.”
The trial underlines the eSprinter’s ability to meet the demands of real-world service operations. With a 204 hp electric motor powering the front wheels and a 113kW high-voltage battery offering a combined WLTP range of 202 miles (with an 80 km/h speed limiter), the van is more than capable of handling the daily distance covered in most roadside assistance callouts.
“Participating in this trial proved everything we know about the eSprinter,” added Gavin Hewitt, Aftersales Director at Northside Truck & Van. “Its power and reliability allowed us to continue to meet our targets, and we look forward to adding more to our Service24h fleet in the future.”

Beyond its impressive range and performance, the eSprinter’s design supports the practical needs of on-the-ground technicians. The underbody-mounted battery preserves the full cargo area, which is equipped with the tools, equipment, and GenuineParts required for comprehensive on-site repairs.
The initiative is the latest evolution of MobiloVan*—Mercedes-Benz Vans’ industry-leading mobility and roadside assistance programme. With a current average response time of just 70 minutes, and 82% of vans fixed at the roadside, Service24h continues to set the benchmark for aftersales support across the UK.
By integrating the all-electric eSprinter into this high-performing ecosystem, Mercedes-Benz Vans not only affirms the viability of zero-emission service vehicles but also underscores its ongoing mission to offer sustainable mobility solutions without compromising on performance, reliability, or service excellence.
MobiloVan is the manufacturer’s comprehensive roadside assistance programme for all Mercedes-Benz vans covered by the brand’s warranty or service contracts.
