Milton Keynes. The new Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet is now available to order in the UK, with prices starting from £52,995 OTR1 for the CLE 200 AMG Line.
Combining the expressive design of the CLE Coupé with a multi-layer fabric soft top that can be raised or lowered in as little as 20 seconds, the new CLE Cabriolet continues the tradition of elegant, four-seat open-top vehicles from Mercedes-Benz.
Initially the new CLE Cabriolet is available in AMG Line, AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus and Premier Edition specifications. At launch the range of powertrains includes four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines and a four-cylinder diesel – all with mild-hybrid technology.
Equipment & Specification
The new CLE Cabriolet is equipped with an electrically operated fabric acoustic soft top. The insulated multi-layer structure can be raised or lowered in 20 seconds while the vehicle is travelling at up to 37mph. When lowered, a powered divider automatically separates the folded soft top from the remaining luggage space.
The year-round usability of the CLE Cabriolet is further enhanced by the AIRCAP® electric wind deflector system and the AIRSCARF® heating system, both fitted as standard. AIRCAP® consists of two elements: the wind deflector above the windscreen extends at the touch of a button to direct airflow over occupants’ heads, while the automatic wind deflector behind the rear head restraints reduces turbulence. AIRSCARF® circulates warm air around front seat occupants’ necks, keeping them warm in cold or windy conditions.
Beyond the soft top, the CLE Cabriolet benefits from the same cutting-edge comfort, convenience and safety technologies as the CLE Coupé. For instance, standard equipment on all models includes the latest MBUX infotainment system with a free-standing 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch driver-oriented central display, in user-friendly portrait format. In the CLE Cabriolet, the central display can be tilted electrically from 15 to 40 degrees to prevent glare when the soft top is lowered.
AMG Line models feature 18” AMG alloy wheels, THERMATIC automatic climate control, LED High Performance headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, a multifunction sport steering wheel in Nappa leather, dynamic 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless device charging, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and the Parking Package with a reversing camera.
AMG Line Premium adds 19” AMG alloy wheels, DIGITAL LIGHT LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, MBUX augmented reality for navigation and the Parking Package with a 360° camera.
AMG Line Premium Plus models introduce 20” AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, the ENERGIZING Plus Package (including climatised multi-contour massage front seats, seven ENERGIZING comfort programmes with ENERGIZING COACH and AIR BALANCE Package with ioniser), a head-up display, and the 17-speaker Burmester® 3D Surround Sound system with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio.
Premier Edition models add the Night Package – including 20” AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in black – a heated steering wheel and Nappa leather upholstery.
The new CLE Cabriolet is available in eight body colours – including exclusive MANUFAKTUR finishes Patagonia Red, Alpine Grey (Solid) and Opalite White. The soft top is available in Black, Red or Grey.
For the interior, customers can specify leather in Black, Tonka Brown/Black, Macchiato Beige/Black or Power Red/Black. CLE Cabriolet Premier Edition features Nappa leather upholstery as standard, in Black, Tonka Brown/Black or White.
AMG Line Premium Plus and Premier Edition customers may specify the advanced Driving Assistance Package Plus (£1,695 incl. VAT) to benefit from additional latest-generation safety and assistance systems including Active Speed Limit Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Land Change Assist and PRE-SAFE® PLUS.
