Milton Keynes, United Kingdom — 13 January 2025
Mercedes-Benz UK has concluded 2024 with a remarkable milestone, registering 102,757 new cars — a 17 percent increase compared to 2023. This achievement marks the brand’s best full-year performance in the UK since 2020 and underscores the growing demand for its innovative, electrified, and luxurious offerings.
Electrification Leads the Charge
The surge in registrations was bolstered by a robust 19 percent increase in demand for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and a 40 percent rise in plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs). In the private retail channel alone, sales of BEVs and PHEVs grew by 26 and 29 percent respectively. This trend signals a significant shift toward electrification among UK consumers, who continue to trust Mercedes-Benz for its pioneering technology and uncompromising luxury.
Olivier Reppert, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz UK, expressed his enthusiasm:
“I’m incredibly proud of the team at Mercedes-Benz UK and our network partners for this encouraging performance. It highlights the success of our pioneering Agency sales model and the inherent desirability of our cars.”
The Agency Model: A Success Story
The remarkable 27 percent growth in the private retail channel also reflects the success of Mercedes-Benz UK’s Agency sales model. Introduced in January 2023, this innovative approach enables customers to transact directly with Mercedes-Benz UK through Agent partners, ensuring a seamless and transparent purchasing experience.
The Agency model empowers customers with consistent pricing, greater flexibility, and direct access to the brand’s expertise, further strengthening the trust and loyalty that underpin Mercedes-Benz’s position as a market leader.

Looking Ahead to 2025: The Arrival of the New CLA
With its record-breaking year as a foundation, Mercedes-Benz UK is setting its sights on an even more transformative 2025. Central to this vision is the highly anticipated world premiere of the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA, which promises to redefine the entry segment with groundbreaking advancements in range, efficiency, and charging speed.
The CLA, the first model based on Mercedes-Benz’s cutting-edge MMA platform, will offer customers the choice between an advanced electric drivetrain and a high-tech electrified combustion engine. This innovation is a testament to Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to delivering sustainable luxury without compromise.
In addition to the CLA, 2025 will welcome new high-performance models from Mercedes-AMG, including the E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ and CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet, further expanding the brand’s portfolio of electrified performance vehicles.
A Vision for the Future
Mercedes-Benz UK’s exceptional performance in 2024 is a reflection of its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. As the brand gears up for 2025, it is poised to continue setting benchmarks in the automotive industry, solidifying its legacy as a leader in luxury mobility.
With a steadfast focus on electrification and a customer-centric approach, Mercedes-Benz is not just meeting the demands of today’s market but shaping the future of sustainable transportation.
