Pretoria The Easter season has become a notorious time in South Africa for an increase in accidents. Road carnage becomes a focal point when a time of festivity turns into one of pain and sorrow for some people instead. This year employees from Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) After-Sales team and dealer network will be spending their Easter on the road between Johannesburg and Durban from 27 March to 2 April, offering service and expertise to road users.

MBSA technical specialists and dealer technicians in three branded Service24h ML’s and one G-Class will patrol various stretches of the N3, which carries large quantities of traffic around Easter time. They will be on-hand to spot motorists in distress along the road, and offer them a helping hand. This advisory service will not only be limited to Mercedes-Benz drivers, as staff will also assist drivers of other brands. The MBSA call centre will be equipped with the service centre numbers of other motor manufacturers and on request from the technicians on patrol, will be able to re-direct the motorists to their own customer service centre for further assistance.

In addition, a kiosk staffed with product experts will be stationed at the Bergview Engen 1-Stop (Harrismith) on the N3 to bring current and potential customers up to speed on the company’s service excellence commitment– Genuine Parts, Quality Service, Total Commitment.  This includes information about the newly launched PremiumDrive product – a simplified, and superior maintenance plan, which also provides exclusive additional benefits and extension plans.

MBSA Divisional Manager for After-Sales Service, Edmin Naidoo, says: “The Mercedes-Benz philosophy of service excellence pushes us to go the extra mile for our customer. Motorists travelling on the N3 are encouraged to look out for the branded ML and G-Class vehicles, as well as the information kiosk at Bergview Engen 1-Stop (Harrismith). The Mercedes-Benz Service24h Roadside Assistance is available on 0800 133 355.”
