Mercedes-Benz has shown positive growth with their August sales of 2 368 new registrations. These sales equate to an almost 50% increase in comparison to August 2010. This is especially significant in light of the declining car sales market, which has only grown by 8,2% in August and is the lowest for 2011.
“We are very pleased with these increased sales which are driven by exciting new products, especially our new-generation C-Class with more than 2 000 new components. These enhancements include a new 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission, new direct injection engines which offer higher performance, lower fuel consumption and reduced CO₂ emissions. With our latest telematics, COMAND Online, we have taken our customer infotainment experience to the next level,” says Eckart Mayer, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz South Africa.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is locally built at the world-class manufacturing plant in East London and has consistently received local and international quality awards from JD Powers and Synovate.
“The sleek yet muscular new SLK roadster takes open-top driving to the next dimension with ground breaking features such as MAGIC SKY CONTROL. These new introductions are further complimented by the stylish all-new C-Class Coupé, which offers customers a sporty and dynamic experience. These cars have received rave reviews from our customers and potential customers, who have thoroughly enjoyed their test drives. This is evident by the sales figures achieved in their first month of sales,” adds Mayer.
“Both these models were designed and developed for a dynamic driving experience and encompass all the latest generation Mercedes-Benz safety and innovation features,” concludes Mayer.
