Mercedes-Benz is making significant strides in the evolution of its UK lineup, introducing new powertrains, advanced technologies, and luxury features across a range of models. This strategic enhancement is poised to elevate the driving experience, blending performance, efficiency, and cutting-edge innovation.
The Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupé: A New Era of Hybrid Performance
At the forefront of these advancements is the Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupé, now available with an efficient plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain. The CLE 300 e epitomizes the fusion of dynamic design and technological prowess. Its combination of a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with a 95 kW electric motor and a 25.4 kWh battery allows it to travel up to 69 miles on electric power alone. This impressive range ensures that many drivers can complete their daily commutes without engaging the combustion engine. With a total system output of 313 hp and 550 Nm of torque, the CLE 300 e accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 6.3 seconds, delivering both efficiency and exhilarating performance.
Available in AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus, and Premier Edition specifications, the CLE 300 e starts at £60,610 and boasts CO2 emissions of just 13 g/km, qualifying for a low BiK tax rate of eight percent for the 2024/25 fiscal year. For those seeking additional options, the CLE Coupé can also be configured with four-cylinder diesel and four or six-cylinder petrol engines, each supported by an integrated starter generator (ISG).

The EQE Saloon and EQE SUV: Electrification Meets Performance
Mercedes-Benz has also introduced the 350+ powertrain to its EQE Saloon and EQE SUV models, significantly boosting their electric range. The EQE 350+ Saloon can now travel up to 429 miles on a single charge, a notable improvement from its predecessor, while the EQE 350+ SUV offers a range of 376 miles. These enhancements are complemented by the introduction of the 500 4MATIC powertrain to the EQE Saloon, which combines a 91 kWh battery with dual asynchronous motors to deliver a combined 408 hp and a range of up to 385 miles.
The EQE lineup has been streamlined with new specifications, including AMG Line Edition, AMG Line Night Edition Premium, and AMG Line Night Edition Plus. For those prioritizing luxury, the optional Luxury Interior Package offers comfort features such as quilted Nappa leather seats and a heated steering wheel. Additionally, the MBUX Hyperscreen, a cutting-edge infotainment system, comes standard on all EQE 500 4MATIC and AMG EQE 53 models.
Diesel Plug-In Hybrids: The E-Class and GLE
In a unique move, Mercedes-Benz has equipped the E-Class and GLE with diesel plug-in hybrid powertrains. The E 300 de and GLE 350 de models, which pair a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a high-voltage battery, offer impressive electric ranges of 68 and 63 miles, respectively. These models are particularly well-suited for long-distance driving, combining the efficiency of diesel with the environmental benefits of electric power. Pricing starts at £66,610 for the E-Class and £77,360 for the GLE.
Urban Editions and New Model Launches: Expanding the Mercedes-Benz Family
Mercedes-Benz is also broadening the appeal of its lineup with new Urban Edition specifications for the C-Class, GLC, E-Class, and GLE. These models feature AMG-inspired styling and luxury equipment, making high-end aesthetics more accessible. Urban Edition models are available exclusively with plug-in hybrid powertrains, further underlining Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to electrification.
Moreover, several new models are now available for order in the UK, including the enhanced EQS, the all-electric G-Class, and the AMG E 53 HYBRID. These vehicles continue to push the boundaries of performance and luxury, offering UK customers a diverse and technologically advanced selection.
