Sporty design, agile handling, hallmark Mercedes ambience and comfort determine the new C-Class Coupé.

The new C-Class Coupé has grown: With a wheelbase extended by 80 millimetres, the new C-Class Coupé is 95 millimetres longer and 40 millimetres wider. Thanks to an optimised folding mechanism, it takes up six millimetres less in width with the mirrors folded. These changed proportions give the new Coupé a stretched appearance and emphasise its sporty nature. To further boost this look, the ride height of the car is on a sports car level with the standard 17-inch tyres.

Comparison of exterior dimensions

Width mm 1810 1770 40

Wheelbase, mm 2840 2760 80
Front/rear track in mm 1563/1546 1534/1536 29/10

Above all, the increased vehicle volume enhances the pleasing sense of space for the driver and front passenger. In the interest of its sporty character, compromises were made with regard to rear legroom. There is more shoulder room, elbow room and headroom on all seats.

Powerful and efficient four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with ECO start/stop function provide for sporty performance and driving pleasure. All are compliant with the Euro 6 emissions standard. Compared with the predecessor they consume up to 20 percent less fuel.

There are initially four petrol engines available for the Coupé. The output spectrum ranges from the 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine in the C 180 rated at 115 kW/156 hp to the two-litre C 200 (135 kW/184 hp) and C 250 (155 kW/211 hp) models and the C 300, likewise with a displacement of two litres but with an output of 180 kW/245 hp.

The diesel models are powered by the further advanced four-cylinder engine, which is equipped with SCR (selective catalytic reduction) technology. They cover an output range from 125 kW/170 hp to 150 kW/204 hp.

Roughly half a year after market launch, the C-Class Coupé will also be available with 4MATIC all-wheel drive in conjunction with two petrol engines as a C 200 model and C 400 4MATIC model with six-cylinder engine as well as in two diesel variants, the C 220 d 4MATIC and C 250 d 4MATIC.

The C 180, C 200 and the C 220 d are equipped with the new 6-speed manual garbox as standard. The gears in the C 250 and C 300 are shifted by the 7G‑TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission. It is also available as an option for the C 180 and the C 200. The C 250 d comes as standard with the new 9G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, which can also be ordered as an optional extra for the C 220 d. The 9G-TRONIC PLUS will also be used for all 4MATIC variants at a later time.

Individual highlights

The AMG Line is available as an alternative to the standard specification. It underscores the dynamic character of the Coupé. Special bumpers and side sills with AMG styling, a diamond grille with chrome pins and 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels have the identical effect for the exterior. Interior highlights of the AMG Line include sporty exclusive touches such as upholstery in ARTICO man-made leather/DINAMICA microfibre in black with contrasting topstitching, a multifunction sports steering wheel with flat bottom and AMG sports pedals. Open-pore black ash wood trim combined with aluminium in the dashboard and the doors emphasise the AMG look.

Additional eye-catching features are added by the optional Interior Chrome package featuring numerous accents with silver chrome surrounds that include the instrument cluster, the air vents and the door handles. The C-Class Coupé of the model series C 205 is available ex-factory with a choice of eleven paint colours and one special paint finish. In addition, there are 13 wheel designs, six upholstery colours and seven different types of trim to choose from as a form of personal expression.
