Spa-Francorchamps, September 12, 2025 – The legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, revered as motorsport’s ultimate proving ground, once again witnessed the magic of Maserati’s racing heritage as the MCXtrema made a triumphant return. Its presence at the 2025 Maserati International Rally (MIR) evoked the spirit of the iconic MC12, celebrating a legacy of performance, elegance, and audacity that has defined Maserati for nearly a century.
Held from September 10 to 13 in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, the MIR brought together 100 Maserati models spanning multiple generations, offering enthusiasts a journey through both history and innovation. Participants traversed the picturesque countryside roads surrounding Durbuy—the world’s smallest city—culminating in exhilarating track sessions at Spa-Francorchamps, the revered “university” of motorsport.
For this edition, the MCXtrema wore the same livery that made its mark as the Leading Car at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa earlier this year. Its black-and-blue color scheme pays homage to the MC12 GT1, a car that etched its name in racing history with victories at Spa in 2005, 2006, and 2008. The design is adorned with a bold trident on the hood and a dynamic interplay of lettering along the doors and rear sides, celebrating Maserati’s most legendary models, drivers, and international circuits.

The highlight of the rally, Thursday, September 11, saw the MCXtrema in its natural habitat: the Spa track itself. Spectators were treated to the Maserati Parade, a spectacle where historic icons and contemporary models shared the stage, each bearing the unmistakable Trident emblem that has symbolized Maserati’s racing spirit since 1926, when Alfieri Maserati piloted the Tipo 26 to victory at the Targa Florio.
As it carved through Eau Rouge and Raidillon, the MCXtrema was more than a car—it was a living tribute to the MC12, rekindling memories of the Vitaphone Racing triumphs and reminding enthusiasts of the brand’s enduring commitment to innovation, performance, and daring. Every curve, every roar of its engine, evoked the legacy of champions like Michael Bartels, Andrea Bertolini, Timo Scheider, Stéphane Sarrazin, and Eric van de Poele, whose exploits have become part of Maserati folklore.
The 2025 Maserati International Rally was a celebration of passion, precision, and performance—a fitting stage for the MCXtrema, whose presence bridged past glories with the promise of future triumphs. In the Ardennes, among the winding roads and historic circuit, Maserati once again demonstrated why its cars are not just vehicles, but symbols of a legacy that continues to inspire awe.
