McLaren Automotive, renowned for its groundbreaking supercars and hypercars, is entering the electric bike market with the launch of its first-ever hyperbikes: the “Extreme 600” and “Sport 600.” These high-performance e-bikes boast up to 600W and 161Nm of torque, vying for the title of the world’s most powerful e-bikes.

Designed by McLaren’s supercar design team, these bikes feature hand-laid carbon-fibre frames and five power settings: Off, Eco, Trail, Sport, and Race. Limited numbers of both 600W and 250W versions will be available, bringing McLaren’s signature performance and design to the electric two-wheeled world for the first time.

Drawing inspiration from McLaren’s award-winning supercars like the P1TM and the Artura hybrid, these e-bikes incorporate the same cutting-edge technology and design principles. The powerful motor enhances the bikes’ high power-to-weight ratio, a critical aspect of McLaren’s engineering philosophy. With torque figures surpassing those of other premium e-bikes, McLaren’s e-bikes are engineered for top-tier performance.

The design team has also integrated an innovative digital display, mirroring the graphics of McLaren supercar driver displays. This full-colour LCD panel on the handlebars provides telemetry information, including speed, battery life, and range, ensuring maximum rider engagement and user-friendliness.

The range includes four distinct models: Extreme 600, Extreme 250, Sport 600, and Sport 250. Each model offers a premier riding experience, whether on city streets, off-road tracks, or mountain trails. The flagship Extreme 600 models deliver up to 852W of peak power and a top speed of 20mph (32kph) in Race mode, making them contenders for the world’s most powerful street-legal electric mountain bikes.

Two electric mountain bike models are available in limited numbers: a 29” hardtail version and a full-suspension version with a 29” front wheel, a 27.5” rear wheel, 145mm of rear travel, and 160mm of fork travel. All models are equipped with SRAM wireless XX Eagle Transmission 12-speed drivetrains (Extreme models) or mechanical SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrains (Sport models).
