An unprecedented fusion of innovation, heritage, and elite motorsport access redefines customer experience for McLaren’s most devoted enthusiasts.
McLaren Automotive, in collaboration with McLaren Racing, has announced the launch of Project: Endurance – a landmark initiative that offers a select few the chance to own an authentic Le Mans Hypercar while stepping directly into the heart of McLaren’s FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) programme.
A strictly limited number of customer LMDh Hypercars will be developed in parallel with the factory McLaren Hypercar set to compete in the 2027 WEC season. But this is no ordinary ownership experience. Through Project: Endurance, McLaren is inviting participants to become embedded in the marque’s most ambitious motorsport campaign to date – a bid to claim motorsport’s elusive Triple Crown in a single season: victory at the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“This incredible opportunity delivers a new dimension in McLaren customer partnership,” says Nick Collins, CEO of McLaren Group Holdings. “Project: Endurance is about more than just owning an extraordinary car – it’s about joining us on a journey to racing history.”
A Front Row Seat to History
For the handpicked few, the Project: Endurance programme represents unprecedented access to McLaren’s elite development ecosystem. From prototype testing to race preparation, owners will witness – and influence – the evolution of McLaren’s Le Mans challenger. Customers will engage directly with engineers, team principals, and drivers, becoming intrinsic to the Hypercar’s performance trajectory.
This unique customer-car is being co-developed alongside McLaren’s factory LMDh contender with support from race engineering specialists Dallara – a revered name in international motorsport and McLaren’s exclusive partner for this Hypercar programme.
Like its competition sibling, the Project: Endurance car features a rear-wheel-drive layout powered by a twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, delivering the raw, visceral performance of an authentic endurance machine built for one of the world’s most demanding circuits.
“This customer programme will offer buyers an incredible chance to own a real race car and get closer to the action on track,” adds Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing. “It’s a powerful blend of legacy, performance, and access.”

Two Years of Track-Focused Immersion
Ownership extends far beyond delivery. The Project: Endurance programme includes a two-year McLaren customer track experience hosted at the most prestigious circuits worldwide. Operating on a fully supported ‘arrive-and-drive’ basis, owners will receive full race-day backing, including dedicated pit crew, race engineers, and professional driver coaching.
Whether refining lap times at Spa-Francorchamps or mastering the curves of Suzuka, participants will live the life of a factory driver with an unmatched level of access and support – an experience rarely offered outside the professional racing sphere.
A Tribute to McLaren’s Racing Pedigree
Project: Endurance is rooted in McLaren’s rich motorsport heritage – one marked by a legendary 1995 victory at Le Mans with the McLaren F1 GTR, multiple wins at the Indy 500, and an enviable Formula 1 record that includes nine Constructors’ Championships and 183 Grand Prix victories.
It is this legacy that McLaren seeks to honour and evolve through its 2027 WEC campaign – and Project: Endurance offers customers the rare privilege of becoming active protagonists in that pursuit.
Looking Ahead
Further details on this visionary collaboration between McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing will be revealed as the 2027 programme progresses. But one thing is already clear: Project: Endurance is not just about buying a car – it’s about making history.
About the Triple Crown of Motorsport
The Triple Crown is motorsport’s most prestigious and rarely achieved accolade, comprising wins at the Monaco Grand Prix (Formula 1), Indianapolis 500 (IndyCar), and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (WEC). McLaren is the only manufacturer to have achieved all three – and is now targeting a clean sweep within a single season.
