Mazda is once again setting new standards in the automotive industry with the introduction of its 2025 Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 models. This new range is packed with advanced features and significant updates that promise to enhance the driving experience while maintaining Mazda’s signature style and quality.
Expanded Model Range
The 2025 Mazda3 range boasts an impressive 17 models, including 15 hatchbacks and two saloons. Meanwhile, the Mazda CX-30 line-up features 21 models. Both line-ups retain their award-winning exterior designs and high-class interiors, ensuring that the stylish appeal of these vehicles remains unchanged.
Powertrain Enhancements
A major highlight of the 2025 models is the introduction of a new e-Skyactiv G engine. This 2.5-litre engine, which replaces the outgoing 2.0-litre 122ps e-Skyactiv G engine, produces 140ps and is equipped with Mazda’s M-Hybrid mild-hybrid system. The engine also features cylinder deactivation technology, aligning with Mazda’s commitment to efficiency and performance.
The introduction of this engine marks a significant improvement in real-world performance. The new e-Skyactiv G engine delivers 238Nm of torque at 3,300rpm, compared to 213Nm at 4,000rpm from its predecessor. This enhancement translates to faster acceleration times: both the Mazda3 and CX-30 are 0.9 seconds quicker from 0-62mph with the manual gearbox, and the Mazda3 auto is 1 second faster, with the CX-30 auto being 0.9 seconds quicker.
Advanced Technology Integration
Both the 2025 Mazda3 and CX-30 models come with integrated Alexa Voice Assistant, which enhances convenience and connectivity. Additionally, the Mazda navigation system now benefits from cloud-based points of interest and database updates, ensuring drivers have the most current information at their fingertips. These updates complement the existing 10.25-inch center screen, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi Wireless Charging, and USB Type-C charging ports introduced in the 2024 models.

Retained Excellence in e-Skyactiv X Engine
At the top of both model line-ups, the 186ps e-Skyactiv X engine remains unchanged. This engine features Mazda’s unique Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI) technology, producing 186ps at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 240Nm at 4,000rpm. The advanced SPCCI technology ensures a broader operating band of combustion efficiency, which not only delivers higher maximum engine torque but also improves real-world fuel economy. The Mazda M Hybrid mild-hybrid system further enhances the engine’s performance by providing smooth and efficient acceleration.
Diverse Transmission Options
For the 2025 model year, both the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 can be paired with either a manual or automatic transmission. Additionally, the range-topping Mazda CX-30 e-Skyactiv X Takumi is available with all-wheel drive, offering enhanced traction and stability. The stylish Mazda3 Saloon, available exclusively with the 186ps e-Skyactiv X engine, is now offered solely in the Exclusive-Line grade.
Aesthetic Appeal and Market Position
The Mazda3 Saloon, with its longer profile and unique exterior panels, stands out in the compact premium saloon sector. Sharing just its windscreen and bonnet with the hatchback, the saloon model is 200mm longer, providing a distinctive and stylish option for customers.
