Mazda has set a new benchmark in electric vehicle safety with the all-new Mazda6e, achieving the highest five-star rating in Euro NCAP’s recent assessments. The model impressed across the board, scoring an exceptional 93% in both Adult Occupancy and Child Occupancy categories, while delivering strong results for Vulnerable Road Users (74%) and Safety Assist systems (77%).
Exemplary Protection for Adults and Children
In the Adult Occupancy tests, the Mazda6e demonstrated outstanding safety performance, securing maximum points in the side barrier impact and offering good or adequate protection in the more demanding side pole tests. Its far side airbag, designed to reduce occupant-to-occupant injuries during lateral collisions, performed admirably, protecting both driver and front passenger. Head restraints on all seats were rated good, providing essential whiplash protection in rear-end impacts.
Child safety was equally impressive. The Mazda6e earned top marks for both frontal and lateral crash tests with six- and ten-year-old child dummies. The vehicle’s child seat installation checks received full points, and its innovative Occupancy Monitoring System, which alerts drivers to unattended children, garnered positive recognition from Euro NCAP.
Protecting Vulnerable Road Users
The Mazda6e’s commitment to road safety extends beyond its occupants. In the Vulnerable Road User category, the car delivered mostly good or adequate protection for pedestrians. Motorcyclists benefited from maximum-point performance from the autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and Lane Support systems, while cyclists were safeguarded through AEB interventions and door-opening warnings on all side doors, contributing to a 74% overall rating.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Intelligent Design
A key factor in the Mazda6e’s 77% Safety Assist rating is its comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The AEB system responds promptly to other vehicles, while the driver status monitor detects fatigue and distraction. The lane support system subtly corrects the car’s trajectory, and the speed assistance system ensures compliance with local limits.
Mazda’s renowned driver-focused cockpit, low centre of gravity, and near-perfect 47:53 weight distribution further enhance the vehicle’s driving dynamics. The advanced human-machine interface (HMI) supports focus and situational awareness, enabling a driving experience that is as safe as it is engaging.
