Mazda Southern Africa has announced the promotion of Kyron Pather to the role of Head of Operations (Sales & Service), effective from April 2026, as the company continues to sharpen its focus on operational excellence and customer experience across the region.
Pather’s appointment signals a strategic move for the brand as it works to further strengthen dealer performance, aftersales support, and customer satisfaction in an increasingly competitive automotive market.
Having previously served as General Manager for the Parts Business division, Pather played a central role in managing Mazda Southern Africa’s national OEM parts operation. During his tenure, he was responsible for overseeing the full supply chain and dealer support network, delivering measurable improvements in parts availability, inventory optimisation, and dealer service levels.
His work also involved close collaboration with Mazda Motor Corporation and international supply partners to improve supply chain efficiency, maintain competitive pricing structures, and align local operations with global standards. These efforts helped reinforce Mazda’s aftersales performance and strengthen support for dealerships nationwide.
In his new position, Pather will lead the company’s Sales, Service, and Parts operations, with a focus on creating greater alignment across departments and delivering a seamless customer journey throughout the ownership experience.
Mazda Southern Africa Managing Director Bonite van der Merwe said Pather has consistently demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, extensive industry expertise, and a deep commitment to the Mazda brand and its customers.
Pather said he is looking forward to working closely with internal teams and dealer partners to continue building on the company’s strong market foundation while enhancing the overall customer experience.
The appointment comes as Mazda Southern Africa continues to position itself as a customer-focused premium automotive brand under its “Wonderrrr Awaits” campaign platform. The campaign reflects the company’s emphasis on exploration, driving enjoyment, and creating memorable experiences for customers both on and off the road.
Rooted in Mazda’s long-standing philosophy of human-centric engineering, the brand continues to focus on combining refined craftsmanship, advanced technology, and thoughtful design across its vehicle range. Alongside vehicle development, the company remains committed to maintaining high standards in reliability, service delivery, and dealer support.
Pather’s promotion reinforces Mazda Southern Africa’s broader strategy of building a high-performance organisation capable of delivering efficient operations and a differentiated ownership experience aligned with the brand’s premium ambitions.
