Somerset West, South Africa – Mazda Southern Africa, in collaboration with Rola Mazda Somerset West, has taken a significant step in supporting South Africa’s next generation of athletes. On 23 October 2025, the brand officially handed over two Mazda vehicles – a CX-5 and a CX-3 – to Endurocad, the athlete and youth-development organisation founded by Olympic medalist Elana Meyer. The handover event was attended by Bonite Van Der Merwe, Managing Director of Mazda Southern Africa, alongside representatives from Rola Mazda and Endurocad.
The donation of these vehicles is more than a gesture of goodwill – it represents a tangible investment in mobility, access, and opportunity. Endurocad will use the CX-5 and CX-3 to transport athletes to training camps and competitions, facilitate mentorship visits, and allow coaches to reach schools and communities across the Western Cape.

Founded in 2013, Endurocad has established itself as one of South Africa’s most respected sports and youth empowerment organisations. The organisation leverages athletics as a platform to equip young people with essential life skills, mentorship, and education to build sustainable futures. Its flagship initiatives include the Stellenbosch High School Bursary Programme, which provides full academic and athletic support to learners; the Achieve Young Women Empowerment Programme, focused on fostering confidence and personal growth; and the Endurocad Pathway Programme, which combines high-performance training with tertiary education opportunities.
