Hiroshima / Leverkusen, 11 October 2023. Mazda Motor Corporation has announced its planned model line-up for the 2023 Japan Mobility Show*1, to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Koto Ward, Tokyo from October 28th.
Focusing on the MX-5 – Mazda’s brand icon Roadster, the theme of the Mazda stand, ‘The Future Created by the Love of Cars‘, is designed to show the company’s continued commitment to the creation of products that satisfy customers‘ love of driving and cars.
Several MX-5 models will be on display: the latest 2024 MX-5 has its premiere at the show – an upgrade of the fourth-generation model, and a new concept car designed to symbolise the exhibit theme also makes its world debut. The first-generation MX-5 will also be on display – an enduring symbol of Mazda’s commitment to the joy of driving, as well as a two-thirds scale model MX-5 to provide a simulated driving experience for children, and an MX-5 SeDV*2 that can be controlled using only the driver’s hands.
Mazda will also join the show programmes organised by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association. The Mazda2 Bio Concept fueled by next-generation bio diesel will be on display in the motorsport area. Reinforcing Mazda’s multi-solution approach for a sustainable future, the Mazda2 Bio concept car is a ’laboratory on wheels’ exploring alternative sustainable energy sources to fossil fuels as Mazda looks to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Mazda will also take part in ‘Out of KidZania‘ – a popular educational entertainment venue allowing children to explore the world of adult jobs. Children will be offered a role in automotive manufacturing with the ‘sand casting‘ and ‘stamping operator‘ experiences inside a simulated Mazda factory.
