Modena, Italy – August 6, 2024 – Italian luxury and performance brand Maserati marks its 110th anniversary with a spectacular display of its storied past, present, and future at Monterey Car Week 2024. The week-long celebration will feature the global unveiling of a new MC20-derived super sports car at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and the North American debut of the MC20 Icona. Highlighting Maserati’s commitment to innovation and performance, the brand will also deliver the first MCXtrema to a customer at the iconic Laguna Seca Circuit.
House of Maserati: A Hub of Italian Elegance
The House of Maserati will serve as the central venue for the brand’s activities throughout the week. Embodying ‘La Dolce Vita,’ the elegant setting will introduce guests to the MC20 Tributo Modenese, a one-of-one MC20 coupe honoring Modena, Maserati’s birthplace, and Monterey Car Week’s festive spirit.
In a nod to its rich racing heritage, Maserati will officially launch its Classiche department in North America with a showcase of the MC12 Special Edition. Additionally, visitors will experience the all-electric Folgore range, including the GranTurismo Folgore, GranCabrio Folgore, and Grecale Folgore, alongside the GranCabrio Trofeo and MC20 Cielo. Exclusive test drives of the GranCabrio Folgore, GranCabrio Trofeo, and MC20 Cielo will also be available.
Complementing the automotive displays, guests will enjoy fine wines from Marchesi Antinori, a partner with a six-century-long winemaking history. Premium audio partner Sonus faber will provide elevated sound experiences throughout the venue, which features a sleek furniture set-up by Giorgetti, in collaboration with Robina Benson Design House, emphasizing timeless Italian luxury.
The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering: Unveiling New Icons
The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, will be the stage for the global reveal of a new super sports car derived from the MC20. This new model, kept under wraps until the press conference, represents the pinnacle of Maserati’s racing performance and distinctive Italian driving dynamics.
The MC20 Icona Special Series will also make its North American debut at The Quail. This limited edition, featuring just 20 units globally, boasts a special livery inspired by the MC12 Stradale, with Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale color schemes and exclusive customization details.
Returning to The Quail stage is the MCXtrema, a track-only ‘beast’ first revealed in 2023. Demonstrating Maserati’s dedication to pushing performance boundaries, the MCXtrema blends luxury, technology, and raw speed.
MCXtrema’s First Delivery at Laguna Seca
On August 17, the MCXtrema will make its dramatic debut at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, marking its first customer delivery. This event will feature Maserati Chief Test Driver Andrea Bertolini, who will conduct a detailed walk-around and driver briefing with the new owner. Together, they will take to the track, showcasing the high-power V6 3.0-L twin-turbo engine before the official handover.
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance: A Grand Finale
The week will conclude with Maserati’s presence at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18. The newly revealed super sports car will be showcased on the Concept Lawn, highlighting its dramatic design, reduced weight, and maximum performance. Additionally, Maserati’s dynamic 110-year history will be celebrated as a featured class in the Concours, with Maserati Head of Design Klaus Busse serving as an Honorary Judge for the event’s prestigious ‘Best in Show.’
