Spa-Francorchamps, 28 June 2025 – Maserati delivered an exceptional performance at Spa-Francorchamps over the weekend, with a class victory and two podium finishes in the third round of the 2025 GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli. Under rain-slicked skies and on one of the world’s most iconic circuits, the House of the Trident proved its prowess both on and off the track.
In Race 1, Maserati’s dominance was made clear early on. Philippe Prette, piloting the No. 1 LP Racing Maserati GT2, started from pole and never looked back, commanding the Am Cup category with authority. The reigning class champion demonstrated his skill and consistency despite the treacherous conditions, cruising to his fourth Am Cup win of the season. Meanwhile, Dinamic Motorsport duo Mauro Calamia and Roberto Pampanini put in a tenacious performance to secure second place overall and the Pro-Am runner-up spot, narrowly missing the top step by a margin of just three seconds after pushing hard in the final stint.
Race 2, held on Saturday 28 June, saw the Dinamic Motorsport pairing return to the podium, this time finishing third overall and third in the Pro-Am Cup. Starting from the second row, Calamia and Pampanini immediately positioned themselves near the front of the pack. A well-executed driver change kept them competitive, and they held firm to take home another podium from the Belgian round.

Philippe Prette, however, encountered misfortune in the second outing. After charging to the front of the Am Cup field once more, a right rear tyre issue forced an extended pit stop, dropping him to fourth in class. Nonetheless, his earlier win and continued consistency ensure he maintains his lead in the Am Cup standings.
Maserati’s impact extended beyond the racing action. The MCXtrema, dressed in a striking livery commemorating the 20th anniversary of the MC12’s first Spa victory, served as the official Leading Car throughout the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa event, turning heads and paying tribute to Maserati’s racing legacy. Additionally, Maserati supplied a full fleet of official Safety, Leading, and Medical Cars, underscoring its strong partnership with SRO Motorsports Group.
Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, reflected proudly on the brand’s achievements:
“The weekend at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa was simply extraordinary! The Maserati GT2s shone with victories and podium placings in the GT2 European Series, whereas our MCXtrema took the limelight by leading the pack throughout the event, perfectly embodying the spirit of the Trident.
On the sporting front, the results speak for themselves: a first place in the Am class and a second and third place in Pro-Am confirm our leadership and the excellence of our cars.
But the true thrill was to see the MCXtrema as the Leading Car on the legendary Spa track, celebrating 20 years since the historic victory of the MC12. It was an iconic moment, uniting past and future and propelling us with enthusiasm towards our first centenary in motorsport. We couldn’t be prouder!”
With momentum firmly behind them, Maserati now looks ahead to Misano, where the next round of the GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli will take place from 18 to 20 July. As the brand’s home race, expectations will be high—and the Trident will no doubt be aiming to shine once again.
